I am trying to merge 2 columns that are in 2 rows. First of all I cannot get the column widths to match (even though I adjust the other column widths appropriately). If I am able to get them to match, how can I merge them? It doesn't let me select them at the same time. I want to have the company logo (an image) span both rows -- it would look great. The only other option I can think of is to have the logo sit above that area on the page. Is that possible? Am I dreaming?

Hello again,

You can't merge two columns into a single one. Why do you need two columns in that situation? You can delete one of the columns and then select the other and expand it.

To get a picture to span over two columns you can place the picture as background for their parent row. And set the background for both columns to transparent. Or if you want the image to span on two rows, use the parent of those rows.

You can place the image at the top of the page, just create a new row at the top and place the image inside or as a background.

Also, if you want to better separate the different areas of a layout, you can try to use section layouts instead of page layouts.

I cannot get any of those options to work because the lower row has a black background and I need the column on top right to stay because it has content. I want the logo to span both backgrounds. I guess I could put the logo above all the rows. It is a good sized logo and would make for a longer page. Also, not too aesthetically pleasing to be stuck above everything. Here is a link to the screen shot. http://animalhospitalofkennewick.com/screenshot.html

Actually, now that I think about it, it would look better to NOT have the logo above the black background. I will just put it in the white column and expand the height of that entire row. Sorry to have bothered you! I now know I cannot merge columns (this would be a nice feature in newer editions of Flexi CSS Layouts).

Take care.
