Hi,

I'm having a devil of a time trying to figure out how to use z-index to get my submenus to appear over the top of the section below my navigation box. I'm using CS5 on a Mac and just installed the trial version of Flexi CSS Layouts.

I saw in the Flexi Menus JS forum that putting the menu in a wrapper is the fix but can't seem to get this resolved when using the Flexi CSS Layout. I've tried using the Spry menus along with a trial version of your Flexi Menus JS and both have the same issue. Clearly the problem is operator error but I'm new to DW and CSS and have spent the last 4 hours trying to resolve this on my own with no success.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hello Mike,

You can set the z-index property for different elements from the layout from the interface. There is a textfield in the "General" tab from "CSS Styling", on the right of the interface.

The z-index property controls the stack order on a page. A higher z-index value will place the element above other elements with smaller value.

If this still doesn't work, please send me a link or a copy of the page to support at extendstudio.com

Hi everybody,

The overflow thing actually fixes a number of issues with margins so we can't have it any other way. However what you should do, is to create a DIV with position absolute and place the menus inside. Please give this a try and if it doesn't help, it would be good to have the pages somewhere online so we could debug.

But position absolute should do the trick ;)

Hi: I used the AP div in the navigation area, and it now shows the submenus fine; however, since the layout is centered with a full width header and footer, the absolute positioned div containing the nav now moves as the browser window is resized -- the layout stays centered but the AP div remains at the position I assigned....please advise....

Thanks so much in advance,
salut
