Hi
For example you save a page section you have designed and would use on other sites - basically like the built in templates.
Where are the assets kept? (background images, any custom css added, etc) .
When you then use this saved preset are the assets installe don the new site or do you have to add them yourself?
Regards
Mike

Hello Mike,
In order to save the assets of the a template inside the gallery you have to create a folder where inside the folder 'includes/CSSLayouts' from the root of the website.
You must name the folder "[template_name]_assets". Place all the assets there and modify the links to point to their new location.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
A little lost to where to put the folder are you saying to put it in the
C:UsersUser_NameeAppDataRoamingAdobeDreamweaver CS5en_USConfigurationSharedExtendCSSLayoutsLayoutsUserMy Section Layouts
As I did make the change in the website folders but when you update the user_preset if I was to delte the website the assets would go too.
I think I assumed that when you saved a layout/section as a suer preset it would save the assets in the correct place for use on any website later on.
Am I missing the point?
Thanks
Mike

Hello again Mike,
You save the assets on a folder from the current website that has the layout. At this point you should have your layout working with the assets placed in the corresponding assets folder.
To save the template for later use you now need to save in the gallery by using the button from the interface. The extension will automatically copy the assets folder of the template to the configuration folder from Dreamweaver. This will make the assets available when you insert the layout again from the gallery. If you insert it in a different website, the extension will copy the assets folder to the 'includes' folder of the new website.
Tell me if you have any more questions.

Andrei Rinciog

OK. Got the additional user categories.... did not realize the window was supposed to be bigger. DUH!
I did reinstall the extension and is working fine now.
I guess I am confused regarding the working procedure. If you could be so kind to layout a plan for me. For instance, I want to do a website, I select for ex. the web2 layout, and save it as the index page. Then I want to have additional pages that feed off that index page but are obviously different, ie. no showcase, etc. I see under your layout option that you have landing pages, picture galleries layouts etc. How do I use those if I want for ex to insert a gallery into my newly created index page and it is under the same website. I tried the insert page section layout, but it still did not work properly. I do not know what I am missing, but definitely, I am missing the point here. Thank You for your help.

Hi Andrei
Thanks for the reply again.
Right I hear what your saying but its not actually doing that if I take a look in the folder (DW config)
C:UsersUser_folderAppDataRoamingAdobeDreamweaver CS5en_USConfigurationSharedExtendCSSLayoutsLayoutsUserMy Section Layouts
It has 2 files relevant to the saved design ie
test.css
test.xml
but No relevant asset folder now in the standard folder each preset has a corresponding asset folder so Im guessing something is not quite right..
BTW
Windows 7 64bit
DW CS5

Mike

Hello again Mike,
I just retested this on my computer and it functions correctly. I have the same environment as you do with DW CS 5 on Win 7.
Please double check the name of that assets folder from the site. It should be:
"[template_name]_assets". Where the template name is the name you gave the layout when you inserted in the page.
If everything is correct please send me an archive with a test site where you tried that by email at support at extendstudio.com.
Regards,
Andrei Rinciog
PS: Anne, I will post a reply to your post on the thread opened by you. This will keep threads clearer.
