Hi. How can I delete panels I have created but don't want anymore, from the main interface? Thanks.

Hello,

We haven't included the functionality to remove panels from the interface. However, the interface is populated with panels using two XML files, one for custom and one for original skins. If you really want to remove certain panels from the interface, you can edit those xml files and delete the skins that you don't want. Those files can be found inside Dreamweaver's configuration folder, inside the folder "Shared/Extend/CSSPanels/skins".

I strongly recommend that you make backups first. Tell me if you need more help.

Hi Andrei,

I too would like to tidy up my panels folder since doing a few practice efforts however my version of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 doesnt include the Extend folder you mention above inside Dreamweaver's configuration folder ??
In fact I can't find any reference to it anywhere.
Is there a danger by removing unwanted stuff we could inadvertantly 'break' the program - is that why its not easy to delete stuff.

A delete button would be a great help to keep the unwanted menus from cluttering up the interface.

Hello Phil,

The full path is C:Users[your_user]AppDataRoamingAdobeDreamweaver CS4en_USConfigurationSharedExtendCSSPanelsskins.
There is a danger that you'd might delete something important by accident. I, as my colleague, recommend that you create backups before you modify the xml files. Let us know if you encounter any difficulties.
