I keep getting this error message after uninstall of FlexiPanelsCSS demo.

http://grab.by/PAq

Ihave tried deleting the MacFileCache-xxxxxxx.dat on multiple occasions, but still keep getting the message on DW launch.

Please tell me how I can get rid of this message once and for all.

Craig

Hello Craig,

That error is usually caused by a bad installation. The extension files were sent to a different configuration folder than the one your Dreamweaver uses. You will have to find the files and then copy them in the correct place. The configuration folder your Dreamweaver uses is the one under your username and the language that you have set for Dreamweaver. Sometimes the Extension Manager installs extension on different user accounts or under different language folders.

So check if you have a configuration folder for a different language. If you do, search for Extend Studio files. Start with the "Shared" folder in which you should see an "Extend" one. If you do, copy all the files inside the configuration folder of that language to the one you use. (You should make a backup of your original configuration folder).

If you don't have a different language you need to check the configurations of different users from your computer. Also check the default and public user accounts.

If you want we can do a desktop sharing session and I can assist you with this process.

Hi Andrei,

I have searched in all the folders you mention. I have even re-installed the trial software and the error message still comes up. I then searched for duplicates of the newly installed files, but there are none on my computer, only the ones newly re-installed.

There is only my account on my Mac, so it can't have been installed in any other account. I am going to uninstall again and see if that cures the problem.

I will report back once the uninstall completes.

Still had the problem after uninstalling, but found out it was only when I loaded the "Classic" Workspace. I looked through the Workspace folder and found the "Classic.xml" file and then opened and deleted the reference to FlexiPanelsCSS. I also found that in the Dreamweaver Stusrtup folder there were referenced to "csspInitPreview.htm" and "csspInitPreview.js" which I removed and the error is now gone.

Thanks for your pointers.

Craig Paterson
