I'm using a MacBook Pro, with Snow Leopard 10.6.1. I installed the FlexiPanel extension successfully, and confirmed in the extension manager. Everything looks good, but when I start DW CS4, I cannot find FlexiPanels in the Windows/Insert tabs. I uninstalled it, removed the Extend folder from the User/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/en_US/Configuration/Shared/Extend, and re-installed. Still nothing?

Hello Michael,

It is possible that the Extension manager accidently installed the extension on a different user from your computer. Check other user accounts that exist and if you find files that are related to FlexiPanels, copy them in the configuration folder of your user. You need to be careful when you copy the files not to overwrite folders.

I can see a CSSPanel folder in the location mentioned in my initial message, with several files in it. This is quite strange because the Image Show demo I installed is working properly and I can see it in the tabbed Insert Menu, but I cannot see the CSSPanels tab or anything like it?

Hello,

During the installation of the FlexiPanelsCSS have you been prompted to replace some files?

Try to reinstall the component using the Extension Manager. Disable it and then click enable. Say yes to everything that pops up.

Ok, before I do what you mentioned, I did finally see the CSSPanel and the Creative Menu Panel that I installed last week that I could also not find. The problem, or maybe the clarification is that I can only see these tabs in a Library Item (Lbi) file. Is that the only place I can use these tools? When I go to an html file, the tabs disappear, when I go back to any Lbi file they reappear.

Hello Michael,

No, ofcourse not. You should see those buttons when you open a file. Could you please send us a screenshot to support at extendstudio.com? Capture in those screenshot when you can see and when you can't see the buttons.

Excellent, your last suggestion worked! Don't know why, but the Insert bar was not long enough to accommodate the extra tabs, maybe a DWCS4 glitch. So I changed to the Designer layout instead of the Classic layout and now I can select the Extend Studio panels from the drop down on the right, under the Insert panel. Anyway, thank you and one more question. I noticed that in the Creative Menu's I have added all my url's but the extendio.com name replaces one of my named links every time I refresh. Is that a trial version scheme?

Hi Michael,

the "extendstudio.com" link appears over one of your buttons because you're running the extension in trial mode. After you'll register it, it will disappear and show your menu names correctly.

Hi, I have downloaded the demo version also, and have installed and uninstalled 3 or 4 times. I have expanded the inset panel and all the other things you suggest here, but it just does not appear anywhere?

Thank you.

Can you post a screen capture perhaps of where it should appear? I have the insert panel open and it shows quite a number of items.

Thank you.

Hi Elaine,

see the screenshots at the following links:

If you're in CLASSIC view mode:
http://energinstal.ro/ion/classic.JPG

If you're in DESIGNER view mode:
http://energinstal.ro/ion/designer.JPG

Though these are taken on a PC, it should be very similar on MAC too.

Hi, Thank you. I did find it however, it crashes every single time I try to insert a panel or do anything. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted my download and gotten a new one. Seriously does not work.

Thank you.

Please try deleting Dreamweaver's cache (while DW is closed) and restart DW and see if it still happens. Depending on your operating system the cache can be found in one of the following locations:

Windows Vista:
Users [username] AppData Roaming Adobe Dreamweaver language Configuration <b>WinCachesome_number.dat</b>

Windows XP:
Documents and Settings <Your User Name> ApplicationData Adobe Dreamweaver language Configuration <B>WinCachesome_number.dat</b>

MAC OS X
User/library/application support/adobe/DreamweaverCS/language/Configuration/MACCachesome_number.dat

I did that, but the same thing happens. I select one of the free demo samples and press the insert button and Dreamweaver crashes immediately without any error notification.

When I try to modify one of the existing templates it says that the application FS is damaged, then it crashes. I have downloaded and reinstalled this no less than 2 times.

I tried installing it on CS3 for the Mac. It still crashes, but I got this error message:
While executing, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list.

I have both CS3 and CS4 on a quad core Mac system 10.5.6

Hello Elaine,

When you try to run the extension for the first time it should prompt that it needs to extract some needed skin files from an archive from the package. After that, it should load an external program called "The Unarchiver" that should start unpacking. Have you seen anything like this when you try to insert a panel?

If you haven't, it is possible that the DW crashes when it tries to launch the other program. You can try to unpack the skins manually and thus make the extension jump over that step. To do that, you need to go inside the configuration folder again (User/library/application support/adobe/DreamweaverCS/language/Configuration/). From there, go to "Shared/Extend/CSSPanels". In that folder you should see a file called "skins.zip". Unpack that archive in the same folder using whatever program you want.

Tell me if you manage to make any progress.

Yes, it unpacks the skins every time I reinstall the extension and instructs me to restart Dreamweaver.

Still crashes.

Hello Elaine,

The same problem has been identified at one of our other clients. We made a desktop sharing session with him and we found the source. We are currently working on a fix. We apologize for the delay and we hope to find a solution today.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi Tarkan,

please sign in to your account and go to the My Account page.

Next to the FlexiPanelsCSS Licence Number you'll find a button called Reset Licence.

Click on it and then retry entering the same code in Dreamweaver.

Hi,

You have problems locating the extension? Here is a short how to: http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/flexi-panels-css/installation_notes-flexipanels.html

Let me know if this is the one, or is there something else that doesn't work?

Thanks,
Cristian
