Hi -

I am just starting to use Fleximenu JS and I am having a problem getting it to update across multiple pages. I have 6 pages so far. I created the menu, added it to the first page. I then added the same menu using the "add existing menu" button to the remaining pages. I then updated the menu with the structure I wanted. The only page it updated was the page I was on, even though I clicked "update to all...". Can you suggest what I can do?

I am using dreamweaver CS4 on a Imac Intel with 8 Gb Ram.

Thanks,

Fred.

Hi -

I was wondering if anyone is monitoring the forum?

Thanks!

I will describe the steps I have taken:

1. Edited all pages to remove all trace of menus.
2. Closed Dreamweaver
3. Deleted all extensions.
4. Restarted Dreanweaver and made sure extension was gone.
5. Removed Dreamweaver config file.
6. Removed all Include folders from website.
7. Restarted Dreamweaver.
8. Closed DW and installed Fleximenu JS.
9. Added a menu.
10. Added an "existing menu" to a 2nd page.
11. Tried updating the menu and "Save to All Pages"

And the result was - didn't update the 2nd page at all...

Hello Fred,

Thank you very much for your step by step reproduction.

However, I've tried and I can't reproduce the bug. Could you please try if you can reproduce this on a new and empty Dreamweaver site ?

I will open a bug report on our server and send it for testing to our test team, maybe they have more luck than me reproducing the bug. I will announce you of our progress.

Andrei -

I created a new site with 3 blank pages. I then added a menu with 1 entry to all 3. After that, I updated the menu to add a 2nd link and clicked on "save to all pages". The second link did *not* appear on the 2nd or 3rd page menus.

Any suggestions?

Maybe you could contact me and do a desktop share and see if I am creating the site wrong somehow.

Thanks,

Fred.

As a comment, I reinstalled the Creative Menus package that I have, and it is updating across all menus when I use it.

I did this to see if the problem was with my dreamweaver or not.

Hello Fred,

Inside the includes folder from your test website, you can find a file named "menus.cfg". Please open it using a text editor. Inside, you should see a list with all the pages that each menu is currently on. Is that file correct, can you find all the html files that you have included your menu in there ?

We can do a desktop sharing session today if you want. I can send more details by email.

Andrei

Please email right away. I am here now. Yes, the file menus.cfg does exist.

Thanks.

Can you please just refund my purchase. I have had to go with another product.

Thanks,

Hi Fred,

Sorry for the late reply. Can we still do that desktop sharing? I'm sure we can work this out since we've run some tests here and everything worked fine here.

Also, we could give you a free license of another product of your choice to compensate for the inconvenient caused by these delays.

Thanks,
Horea RADU.

Horea -

This product was bought to replace the creative menu product which created more validation errors than an ant farm has ants. Now I find that this product has bugs as well. At this time, I would just like the refund. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, created complete new sites with just 2 pages in them, tried with sites I am working on, and I just can not reasonably make this thing work at updating multiple pages at once. I might be a good product with all the bugs out, but I do not have time to try to keep with it.
