Will this product ever be compatible with IE9? I've built almost an entire site for my office and the menus don't even show up anymore. Also, when using the compatibility mode, the menu is pushed to the left instead of centered. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

Thank you so much for the quick reply, Andrei. Would you have a possible eta on the patch release? Even if it's only in days/weeks, I can give something to my supervisors to update their project timeline.

Thanks again.

Hello Ron,

We found a fix and we tested it and it seems to work just fine in IE 9 now. I will send you the package by email.

After you receive the email, install it using the Extension Manager without uninstalling the extension and then edit the menu to update it.

Hello Ron,

Yes, I sent it yesterday. Probably got blocked or something. I've uploaded the package here:

Ok, I installed the extension as instructed and did an edit on the menu and saved to all pages and a few things happened...

First, in IE9, the menu doesn't show up in compatibility mode or otherwise.

Second, in Chrome/Firefox/IE8, one of my menu items at the top level is randomly changed to www.extendstudio.com.

Hello Ron,

Sorry, the package I sent you was incorrect and worked only in demo version. I will send you another one in a few minutes.

The IE9 problem was fixed though. I think that you haven't updated the file on your server or you have to delete the browser cache.

Hi,

Just recalled sending the email didn't work the last time around. So I updated the package on our server.

That took care of the random button however it still does not show in IE9. I created a new test site and it does work so your patch definitely works but mine won't update appropriately.

I cleared all cache from the browser and even wiped the remote site and did a clean file transfer. Is there any other way you can think of for me to fix this short of deleting the "includes" file and recreating the entire thing? It is an internal site so I cannot give you a link but if you have GoToMeeting or some other remote-view software, I could do a quick session with you.

Also, if you want to do contact via email, that will be sufficient. Our filters block ZIP files so that's why I didn't receive any of the patches you had sent.

Thanks.

Hello,

Try to delete only the file called xtdMenuBuild.js from the includes folder of your website. Then edit and update the menu.

What exact IE9 version do you have? I have 9.0.8112.

That did the trick. Thank you so much for your time and patience.

One more quick question. Do you know when there will be an updated version of the menu extension with the fix included? Just for my own knowledge.

Thanks.
Ron

I may have spoken a bit too soon. It only had fixed the menu on the page I clicked update on. So I went back in and clicked "save to all pages" and it went back to not showing again.

I tried deleting the js file and updating a different page. That page then worked and the first page did not again. However, if I delete the entire FlexiMenus folder on the remote site and keep deleting the JS file in-between each menu update, they will all work when I do a final push at the end.

The biggest problem is that, as soon as I hit "save to all pages" instead of update, none of them work again. I have around 25 pages and I can't go through and do this whenever there's an update to the menu... let alone teach the less savvy users how to do this. Any suggestions?

As an aside, I also created a few test pages in a blank site with the same results. As soon as I click "save to all pages" it doesn't appear.

Still seems to be the same issue as the last one. If I hit "save to all pages" I lose it completely.

Hello Ron,

The js file from your site needs to be updated. Remove the "xtdMenuBuild.js" from your website and edit one of the menu again.

This should place the correct xtdMenuBuild.js file from the configuration.

When I delete the xtdMenuBuild.js and then do an edit/update, the menu works fine but only on that one page. The rest of that pages it still doesn't show up. So I deleted the xtd file and did an edit/save to all pages on the menu and it is still not visible on any pages including the page that just worked with the regular update.

Hi Ron,

Could we do a desktop sharing session so I can check why the patch is not working on your computer?

I made tests on mine and everything seems to be fine with the last patch I sent you.

Hello Andrei,

Have you had any luck in creating a patch to fix the IE9 issue we were having? My office is moving to Windows 7 where 9 is the default browser so I'm kind of being pushed a little for an answer.

Thank you,
Ron

Hello Ron,

We didn't make an update yet for the extension. We will do one in the near future once we finish with the launch of the our new extension, jQuery PowerSlider.

From what I recall we found a workaround when we did a desktop sharing. If you use that search and replace the menus should work fine on IE 9.

Yes but I couldn't replicate exactly the search you did. This is what I had:

find:
<div id="FMJS_FlexiMenu1">/s*<ul id="FlexiMenu1_m0">

replace:
<div id="FMJS_FlexiMenu1"><ul id="FlexiMenu1_m0">

but it didn't work. If you could provide me with the exact find/replace (as well as if I should search text or source code), I can use that for now.

Hello Ron,

I apologize for the late reply.

You got the searches almost right.

find
<div id="FMJS_FlexiMenu1">s*<ul id="FlexiMenu1_m0">

replace
<div id="FMJS_FlexiMenu1"><ul id="FlexiMenu1_m0">
