I just downloaded the demo version to try out before buying and created a slide show for my home page. Is there a way to convert to a regular slide show after buying the full version or will I have to re-create it all over again? Also will the full version allow me to access all the fonts on my system?

Hello,
In order to update from demo version to full version you just have to install the full version and edit that ImageShow instance from your site.
After you install the full version, if you receive any errors when you try to edit you have to delete Dreamweaver’s cache file.
If you need the paths to that file please tell me what operating system you have.

Hi Andrei,
I am on a Mac OS10.5.6 using Dreamweaver CS3. I'm new to using plug-ins with Dreamweaver. Can you outline the steps to edit an existing ImageShow. Do I just use the Insert menu, select the ImageShow I created in the HTML document and click edit ImageShow? Or is there another way to do it?
(p.s. I wasn't able to submit this as a reply so I'm adding it as a new post)

Hi Andrei,
I was able to get the full version installed using Adobe Extensions Manager to disable the Demo plug-in. The question I have now: is there a way to have the first image in the slideshow download when the web [age first loads into the browser? Right now mine has a delay where the screen is blank (white). Please advise.
Thanks!

Hello Donya,
You can’t speed up the loading of the images, it depends on how many slides you have, how large are the pictures, what internet speed the visitor has, stuff like that. You can use a preloader to make the visitor now that something is happening. To use a preloader you have to go to the “Theme” section in our interface, check the Preloader box and set its coordinates.

Hello,
You need to make sure that you upload the "includes" folder again and replace the old one.
If you still have problems with this issue please send us an email at support at extendstudio.com.

HI, I downloaded the Creative DW Image Show free trial, got it working fine in DW CS4. Then I downloaded the Pro version to see what the differences were. I uninstalled the first version, installed the second version but cannot get it to appear in Dreamweaver. I have rebooted my iMac several times. Any ideas? TIA

Hello Pat,
Do you get an error when you try to start the interface or you can’t see the buttons at all ?
If you get an error when you open the interface, please delete Dreamweavers cache file from here :
“User/library/application support/adobe/DreamweaverCS/language/Configuration/MACCachesome_number.dat”
If this still doesn’t solve the problem, please tell me what error you receive. Also, it happens all the time ( in a new website with a clean HTML file) or just if you try to edit an image show previously created with the demo version ?
Best regards,
Andrei

Hi Andrei,
The buttons just don't appear at all in Dreamweaver CS4. Should I still try to flush the cache as you described?
Thanks,
Pat

Hi Andre,
(I'm posting this as a new post because when trying to reply to your post I get an error message asking me to type more than 2 characters.)
The Image Show buttons don't show up at all in Dreamweaver CS4.
I tried deleting the cache file as you suggested. Uninstalled the extension, reinstalled it, rebooted and still no dice.
System is running Leopard on an iMac.
I'm very interested in purchasing this software but if I can't even get the trial to work I'm very hesitant to do so.
Any help would be much appreciated as I have a client project for which this software would be perfect.
TIA,
Pat

Hello,
The ImageShow is located on the Insert Bar. You can open it from "Window -> Insert ". On the insert bar you must select the "Creative ImageShow" category before you can see the buttons.
Could we have a desktop sharing session to see what's going wrong? This is the fastest way we can get this thing resolved. If you agree, please send me a phone number and your location by email at support at extendstudio.com.
Best regards,

Hi Andrei,
There is no "Creative ImageShow" category in the "Window -> Insert" dropdown; nor on any other dropdown or menu in Dreamweaver (I've looked everywhere).
I do not wish to open my system for sharing, but have posted screenshots of the DW menus at this address: http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/8811/dwmenus.png (Click on the image to see at 100%). You will see that the extension is not present.
I also tried uninstalling the pro version, downloaded a clean copy of the regular version, installed it and found that it is not showing up either. Frustrating.
It is interesting that the non-pro version worked initially but that the pro version does not. Is it possible that a small file was left on my machine when the regular version was uninstalled that stops the Pro version from running? The reason that I am asking is that recently when I upgraded my CS3 to CS4, Dreamweaver was not installed along with the rest of the Design Suite. Turned out there was a file left in the Applications/Utilities folder from an old tryout of DW CS4 Beta. I have installed software and extensions literally hundreds of times over the years and wonder why this particular package is such a challenge. Any solutions would be welcome.
Thanks,
Pat

Hello,
The components should be placed on the insert bar that you have beneath the top menu ( the one with File,Edit,View .. ). Beneath that menu on the right you have another menu with various tabs. In those tabs you should find our extensions.
Let’s have a desktop sharing session and I think that we will solve this very fast. I think that there is something that we overlooked or a bug that I cannot figure out. This is really weird and I can’t figure out what’s going wrong.
I will send you an email with more information regarding the desktop sharing session.
Best regards,
Andrei Rinciog

Hi Andrei,
Okay. Good news. Thought I was going to have to give up on this.
I think this whole thing is because of the DW interface.
Did a clean reinstall of DW; went to the extension manager and clicked on the box to reinstall the ImageShow extension (I did not reinstall any of the many other extensions at this point because I wanted to narrow down where the problem was); launched DW and, lo and behold, the ImageShow tab and icons were at the top in the insert bar.
So why didn't it work before? Well, I think it did—but we just couldn't see it because, in classic workspace mode, it got pushed off the insert bar by the other extensions. The only way I cottoned on to this was by trying some of the other workspace configurations (I'm not sure now which one it was where it showed up).
I'm looking through the DW documentation to see if there's a way to change the width of the insert bar.
Unless I've missed something, I think it would be a good idea to have the extension also available on the Insert drop-down list as well as in the insert tabs so there is a direct alternate way of accessing the extension.
So, I'm experimenting with the extension now and no longer feel like I'm going crazy. Stay tuned!
Pat
