I am having problem getting this product to display slideshow in a browser on live server. It worked fine in CS3 but not in CS4. The link to the page is www.doyemhomecare.com/index.php

Any help will be appreciated as the client is worried about the blank space on the page.
Thanks.
Akeem

Someone should either reply to this post or my email since last week. Thanks.

Hello,

What modifications have you made to the page in CS 4 ? Just edited the Image Show banner?

There shouldn't be any differences between how the extension works in CS 3 and how it works in CS 4. I don't think this is the cause.

Andrei

I have removed the extension from the page as I was not getting any response within reasonable time. What I meant was that I used the extension in CS3 for a different website and it worked fine both on my local testing server and live server but the new site I am designing in CS4 wont display on live server but displayed very well on local machine. This look like a common problem is there a fix for non display on live server.

Also, how do we use this extension on a page that was created from DW template? Hoping to get a response soon.
Thanks.

Hello Akeem,

There shouldn't be any differences of how the extension works on a live server or locally. I think that you are missing some files on the live server. The extension works with a couple of javascript files and a swf file. They are all inside a folder from the root of your website called "includes". You need to make sure that folder is uploaded 100% to the live server. Also, you need to keep the same folder structure that you had on your local website.

Here's a tutorial that shows you how you can use ImageShow with a DW template: http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/creative-dw-image-show-pro/documentation/tutorials/how-to-add-an-image-show-in-a-webpage-created-using-a-template.html

Tell me if you more questions.

Kind regards,
Andrei

I am having the same problem as Akeem. I have several pages created with a template that has an Image Show Pro slide show in an uneditable region. When I use the Preview In Browser, the slide show never loads. Questions: Can I put a slide show in a template and have it show on every page? I have not yet published my site to the live server. Could this be why it won't load when I test it? I hate to publish until I have this problem worked out. Can you help?

Hello Kathleen,

I don't the template is the problem. It shouldn't affect banner rendering in any way. Usually templates problems appear in Dreamweaver when you need to have the right workflow to not get stuck in translator blocks.

I think that your banner is not rendering because it can't find the includes folder.
There might be differences between URLs used inside the template and what URLs you need on the pages where you place instances of the template.

Could you please post a link to your page?

An Image Show Pro document works fine when viewing the Dreamweaver CS5 file in the browser or even in the live mode while designing, but does not function when uploaded to the server. I received an error message that xtdProBanner14 is not defined. I followed there directions to line 677 — Library:ApplicationSupport:Adobe:DreamweaverCS5:enUS:Conficuration:Commands:xtdInterface.js
At line 677 it states
eval('var xtd = ' + varName);
How do I change that to read properly?
Thanks.

Hello Linda,

I think you didn't upload all the js files from the "includes" folder on the server. Each banner has an associated js file and I think you forgot to upload the one for that banner.

Please upload the entire includes folder and try the page again.
