Hi everyone!
These are probably novice questions, but here goes anway!
1. I have placed Dreamweaver drop down menus in my document and in some of the main browsers the menu appears at the very top of the page (over the top of my top banner) when I refresh the browser it fixes the problem (putting the menu in the correct place). How do I get the menu to display in the correct place without having to refresh the browser?
2. After putting in the menu/s in place I get heaps and heaps of code. I know this is the Javascript/dynamic html that makes it work, but is there a work around (similar to an external CSS style sheet) that I can implement?
A working example can be found here: <http://www.coolmac.com.au/style>.
Congrats to the Exend team on a nice product for us newbies.
Cheers

Hello Tim,

In order to fix your problem, you should put in the .css file, in the #header div id, the height: 50px;?. This is required in order to tell the browser the height of your header.
You should do the same with the #menu div id.

Hello Tim,

Regarding the problem with the html links flashing up we do have a fix. There is a small script at the bottom of the page that starts displaying the menu. If that script is placed exactly after the menu instead of the bottom of the page the links do not appear any more. This fix is not yet integrated in the product package it will probably take us a few days to integrate and test the new package.

Sincerely,
Monica Chitu.

My site pages are developed in .html with css styles for the font in a table format. I understand the problem with the submenus not appearing in IE without the doctype for xhtml. But it I use that doc type, my css styles are not recognized.

See http://correllinc.com/indexnew.html. Please ignore spacing problem. I will adjust when I get the menu working.

Thanks!

Hi Linda,

I have checked the website and I found that the menu is working properly. Regarding the CSS problem, you should adjust the CSS in order to comply with the standards by the DOCTYPE.

Not declaring a DOCTYPE will make browsers to interpret the CSS rules and the HTML code with their own default DOCTYPE and this may cause inconsistencies in your design from one browser to another.
Also you should try to use different DOCTYPES to find out which is the best for your page but we dont know exactly how the menu will perform with any of these.

Hi
This is very much a newbie question- here goes
How do I configure my security settings in order to test locally - I am using DW8 and OSX? Should I be looking to make the changes in Flash Player or via DW?I have looked at the help page but nothing seems recognisable to me.
Many thanks

Hi Sean,

You should right click (ctrl - click on mac) the flash movie that contains the message regarding your flash player settings (or any other flash movie) and click the "About Flash Player link". The Adobe website should open in a new page and you should be able to find a "Settings Manager" link in the Support section on the right side of the page. Once you're in the Settings Manager you should be able to recognize the screenshots from our tutorial. Then you just have to add the path to your website as a trusted location in the "Global Security Settings Panel" section.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reply to this email.
