Hello Peter,
The problems that you are reporting they are caused by the fact that you are using a template for your page. What I don’t understand though is why you don’t see any menus when you click on the Edit button. Please tell me more about your workflow so I can figure out why this error is appearing.
In the meantime, I think there might be a workaround for this. Create a new menu on an empty page and then copy the menu structure from the CDD menu to the new created one ( the code between “Creative CDD menu begin” and “Creative CDD menu end”). Replace the existing code on the newly created page and edit the menu. The new menu will look the same as the CDD menu. Once you done editing, copy the new menu code from that page to your template.
Regards,
Andrei Rinciog

Hi Andrei
I tried your suggestion. I created a new blank html page, which I saved. But when I tried to insert a new menu. (by clicking the creative menus icon) I got and error message and then nothing.
Below are the links to the screen grabs.

Is it not possible to use these menus with templates? How do they update across a site?
If I need to reinstall the product what is the best way to do so?
When I try to reply
Kind regards
Peter

Hello,
A cache clearance should solve this problem. First, close Dreamweaver and then delete its file cache. Then start Dreamweaver again and try to preview a menu again.
Dreamweaver file cache locations on different operating systems:
Windows Vista:
Users[username]AppDataRoamingAdobeDreamweaverlanguageConfigurationWinFileCachesome_number.dat
Windows XP:
Documents and Settings<Your User Name>Application DataAdobeDreamweaver language ConfigurationWinFileCachesome_number.dat
MAC OS X
User/library/application support/adobe/DreamweaverCS/language/Configuration/MACFileCachesome_number.dat
(note: “some_number” = some random number that Dreamweaver generates when he creates the file )
Regards,
Andrei

Hi Andrei
That seems to have worked.
The path to the file was not exactly as you described but I found it anyway and once deleted the problems seemed to go away.
Do recommend against using creative menus with templates?
Are there issues that I should be aware of?
Many thanks for your help.
Regards
Peter

Hello,
The menus work with a template if you insert it directly in the template. However, you won’t be able to insert the menu inside an editable region of a page that uses a template.
If you want to insert a menu inside the editable region of a page that uses a template, you can follow this tutorial to get it to work: http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/creative-dw-image-show-pro/documentation/tutorials/how-to-add-an-image-show-in-a-webpage-created-using-a-template.html
The tutorial was made for ImageShow, but the workflow is the same for the menus.
If you have more questions please write to us again.
Regards,
Andrei
