I have created a new menu using the Vertica Drop Down Menu software.
It looks okay in the preview with everything working, but when I go to view it in a browser, it only shows teh main menu and I can't see the submenu at all.
The menu is positioned in a table within a Dreamweaver template file.
Can anyone help?

I had that problem once too. I ended up rebuiling the menu again. It helps if you save you existing layout in the presets, then it's easy to generate a new one.

Hello,
I tested the menu and found why the submenus are not rendered in IE.
I noticed that your DOCTYPE declaration is not the first line on your page. IE needs to have the DOCTYPE on the first line in the HTML file otherwise it will disregard it.
Also not having a doctype, will make the menu to not function properly in IE because it will revert to its default DOCTYPE which is antique. Please, in order to resolve the problem, you have to put the DOCTYPE first.

Oh for goodness sakes! Now, that I finally have the menu working and installed, anytime I scroll the page the sub menu either disappears completely or it cuts off short. In order to get the sub menu to work, the position of the page has to be at the top. But, most people do not use websites in that manner. If they read half way down the page and scroll a little, they still expect to be able to access the full menu. Can you please help me?

On another thread in this forum, the fourm administrator stated there has been a change in customer service management. Does this in anyway effect email that is sent to Horea Radu? I am wondering only because I sent the files that were requested here and I have not heard anyting back yet. I am concerned if Horea Radu has been given the email or if it has just fallen through the crack. I can resend the email with the attachments if that helps.

We have sent you an email yesterday with an answer to your question and an attachment of 5Mb. The attachment includes the latest version of the extension that has scrolling and resizing problems fixed.
Unfortunately, you werent able to receive this email because, apparently, your Inbox is full. This is a copy of the email we have sent you:
<em>You can find attached a new version of the extension that has the scrolling and resizing problems fixed. You just have to install the new version and edit the menu (you don't have to change anything, just click OK in the edit interface in order for the new files to be copied).
Also, I looked at the link you sent and I found why your menu is not showing. The paths referring to the includes folder in the page were wrong (the paths looked like "../../includes" while your page resides in the root of the website so there is no upper folder). In the files you have sent the paths are correct (that is why it works offline) but in the online file the paths are wrong. I have also attached the online html file with the corrected paths.
If you have any other problems, please feel free to reply to this email.

hi,
new to using the dropdown menu.
I keep having issues not seeing my submenu's though.
I have tried safair and firefox, and my flash settings seem to be allowed.
any reommcndations?

I have been experiencing the same problem and after a very long wait I was told to download the newer version, which I did and it's not compatable with dreamweaver mx 2004. This is extremely frustrating, it seems to be a problem that many, many people are experiencing, and there is no real fix being offered.
Can anyone there at ES offer a REAL fix? I hate to sound rude, but I'm tired of waiting. I also can't afford to waste the money I spent on this or on the time I have spent setting up the menu, and definitely not the time I have spent waiting for an answer that works.

Please give us the link to the page where this is happening. Also please check in the documentation the Handling Button Persistence? title, because the issue described can only happen when you are using the automatic button persistence feature and not using the complete URLs (e.g.: www.extendstudio.com/about/ istead of www.extendstudio.com/about/index.html )

Hello,
I noticed that your doctype declaration was incomplete ( doctype specifies which HTML standard are you using) . Not using a doctype declaration is risky thing to do because you website will look different in every browser. This is because each browser has his own default doctype.
Also not using a doctype, will make the menu to not function properly in IE beacuse the default doctype for IE is antique.
Please, in order to avoid a potential problem, add this in the first line of your HTML document:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "<a href="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

I'm having the same problem with the sub-menus not showing up:

And I'm having another problem with trying to load it on my main PC right now I need to use my old juky one thats over 5 years old to make this plug in work. I installed the DW drop down plug-in. It said it installed just fine. I opened DW go to creative menu tab, click on the "Add new menu button" and I get this error message:
"while executing onLoad in xtb_CM_CreateMenuH.htm, a Javascript error occerred."
So I guess this is really a 2 part question. Buy any help on eather part is very welcome.
