Menus are not complaint with the W3C web standards. They are riddled with errors in the HTML validation tests.

Hello,

We had to use custom attributes to make the menus as SEO friendly as possible. We had to give up on making the menu valid by w3c standards in order to make it possible for the search engines to reach every page.

I think, and you probably agree with me, that making the page more search engine friendly is more important than W3C validation. Many people don't even now about the validation.
