Hello,

Daniel, I've just checked your website and the menu seems to be positioned well. Please tell me how to see the problem or send me a picture.

This error usually appears if you don't put "px" at the end of the dimensions of the surrounding the menu.

Try that Aymee and if it’s still not working please send me a link to your website.

Best regards,

Am not quite sure what happenend, I posted my answer and now I do not see it, anyhow here is the link http://www.doctoraisabel.net

I also have other issues, I placed accent on the text of the menu and when posting the menu, it shows gibberish characters.

I also created other set of menus and when using the "insert menu" feature, and selecting the "Menu1", it inserts and old version of the menu you see online. Take a look http://www.doctoraisabel.net/politica.php

When trying to place the other sets of menus, an alet window comes up telling me "There was a problem reading the menu informaiton" and does not let me insert the other menus.
How can I get rid off these menus that I created and not appear onthe Insert menu list?

Thanks

Hello,

The jumping doesn’t appear on my computer on your website either. I see that you are loading an image without using “px” for its dimensions. This sometimes tricks our menu and doesn’t know where to render it. The image I’m referring to is “images/sideshadow_l.gif". Try adding “px” to each dimension and tell me if the menu is still jumpy.

About the accents, I can see some accented characters on the menu from the website. Please tell me with what character you’ve encountered problems.

When you use the “insert existing menu” feature, it loads a menu from the first page you have created it on. So, if you create let’s say “Menu1” on “index.html”, when you insert “Menu1” on another page, the component copies the menu options and the menu structure from “index.html”. The list of pages on which the menu resides is kept in the includes folder. You can find one “txt” file for each menu you have created. The page it was created first is the first in the list.

The error that you are encountering means that the menu can’t find the menu structure on the page that it has on the top of the list. In order to get by it, you have to put on top of that list a page that you know that has the menu on. That page list is not updated because you haven’t removed the menus using the “remove menu button”.

Thanks for your reply.

I did what you suggested about the px for the image and still, the menu is slightly to the left.

Regarding the characters, here you can see how whenever I edit the Menu, the characters come out all wrong, only way to fix it is to go onto the html itself
http://www.doctoraisabel.net/sintoniza.php

I appreciate all the help I can get with this, the site I am building is mainly in spanish and we need the special characters to work on the site.

Thanks!

Hello,

I think that you have a too small width set on the menu and the buttons don’t have enough space to show all. Maybe you can lower the font size a little or the spacing inside the buttons to make the buttons fit better ?

About the special characters, the weird part is that on my computer they seem to work. I’ve took the menu structure from your website and edited that menu and no character was replaced. Also, I’ve tried with a new menu and used á or ñ and still no replace. Do you have the latest version of the menu installed ? What version of DW and what operating system do you have ?

Best regards,
Andrei

Hello:

Think you are looking at the wrong link, you need to be looking at
http://www.doctoraisabel.net/sintoniza.php the accent characters come out all wrong.
The interesting thing is that on the home page where I created the original menu, it renders just fine. When I used the insert menu on this page http://www.doctoraisabel.net/sintoniza.php, that is when the characters go all wrong or if I try to edit the menu.

I am running on a Mac latest OS system 10.5.6 and DW CS3, the version of your menu extension is 1.5

I am very frustrated, need to resolve this issue asap please, thanks for your help.
