I bought this software to make my life easier building menus into web sites that I am employed to build. Started using teh software and then I find out it creates shed loads of validation errors which the people who pay me weren't willing to accept. So basically I forked out for this softwrae and the people paying me don't want it so I'm left paying eth bill myself.
I Came on here to ask about the validation errors and was told it was normal but would be sorted in the next version. I asked if the next version is free to the people who bought the bad validation version and got no reply (should have just demanded a refund there and then really!)....
I was building a web site for a friend and they said they didn't mind having the menus in it becaus ethey weren't bothered about validation, I put teh menu onto 25 pages using teh "insert existing menu" button. They then wanted to add a page so I went in and edited the menu to add the new link and clicked teh update all pages box. It DIDN'T update all the pages at all! I really am fed up to the teeth of this software now and am seriously wishing I hadn't wasted my money.
What is wrong this time? What is the point of an "update all pages" button if it doesn't actually update all the pages!
Surely I'm not teh only person discovering these things and getting fed up of it?
I ASK AGAIN! WILL THESE ISSUES BE SORTED IN THE NEW VERSION AND WILL THE UPDATE BE FREE TO THE POOR SUCKERS LIKE ME WHO BOUGHT THE BUGGY VERSION??
I'm sorry to shout but I don't feel I'm getting heard here and I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to know, I tried contacting you directly using the instant contact button in teh menus software so that I didn't have to do this.
Please feel free to email me on huw@celticwebsolutions.co.uk if you'd prefer to discuss this privately.
Thanks
Huw

Hello again,
I'm sorry you had so many problems because of the validation errors. As I’ve explained several times on the forum, it was the only way that we found to do the menus at that time to make them SEO friendly. We thought that page validation wasn’t more important than that ( and personally I still do ).
Please tell me more about the update in all pages issue that you have encountered. If you wish, we can make a desktop sharing session so you can show quicker.
The second version of the menus it’s not an update, it’s an upgrade. It won’t be free, but all the Creative Menu v1 registered users will receive substantial discounts as we did with every product upgrade.
Best regards,
Andrei Rinciog

When you say heavily discounted I hope it's VERY heavily discounted because currently I'm out of pocket because I recomended your product to a customer, then later found out that it created many 50+ errors (some of which were very basic and were just plain bad coding which could easily could have been avoided such as spaces in file/directory names). Customer refused to pay me and I ended up having to buy one of your competitors similar products which did not create the errors but still did a similar job.
The current issue which I am having when trying to use them in a friends site is that I went through the entire website adding the menus using the "insert existing website" button, the menus worked fine, I then wanted to add an item onto the menu structure so I edited one and clicked the update all pages box. I saved and went and checked one of the other pages, it hadn't updated the others. What do I need to do to get it to work?

Actually after trying the first time with no success on the "Update all pages", I found that all page files have to be open in Dreamweaver in order to be updated.

Hello,
Ed's idea might work, although, it should work without the pages opened. But try it, and after you make the change, save all the pages.
Also, if you have a testing server, you have to use the “put files” button, to update the pages on the server before testing. Dreamweaver won’t update them automatically.
Thank you Ed for your post!

Seems a lot of fuss for an idea that I origionally thought was a cracking feature. There are about 100 pages in total some of which have the menu on and some do not, my dreamweaver will have a total freak out with 100 pages open at once!
I'll update the thread after I've tried it :D

Yeah, again I had checked to update all pages (about 40 in all so far), but the first time it didn't update, so I then tried with all pages open. Fortunately, that did the trick, so that's what I determined was what is required. No issues on this computer. My dektop is antiquated P4 1.6 ghz with 2 GB RAM. It takes a while to open a large number of pages on one site that I do for an entertainment resource agency when I have to redo the JavaScript menus on all the pages (there are hundreds). I should encourage the client to change over, which would save them money in the long run. Then again... lol
Now if I can get info for changing over from Trial to Full? The documentation seems inaccurate, as I do not see a button for registration.

Hello guys,
Podman, have you used the “insert existing menu” button to insert the menu in those pages or another way ( template, copy paste maybe ).
When you use the “insert existing menu” not only the menu is placed in that page, but also a txt file named “myMenu.txt” gets updated with the page you are inserting the menu on. If you haven’t used that, it’s normal that the “update in all pages” function doesn’t work, because it doesn’t know where the menu is placed. You can fix this by editing that file and adding the pages manually, one page on each row.
If used correctly, those pages don’t need to be opened in Dreamweaver.
About your question Ed, you have to uninstall the Trial version from the Extension manager and install the full version. The menus you have on your pages remain unchanged, only the files in Dreamweavers configuration change.
After you install the full version you have to edit the menu before it updates to full version.

Yes, as stated aboce a number of time I did use the 'insert existing menu' button to insert the menus.
I've now discovered that teh software only alters the menus within my locally stored copies of pages. It DOES NOT upload them. So everytime you open the page from the internet it overwites the local page which has been edited. How can you get it to automatocally update the online pages? It's not really any use only updating teh locally stored pages. Having to open all the pages in DW seems a little extreme and a lot of hastle just to be able to click save :S
Also when is the new version due out without all the validation errors?
Thanks
Huw

Hello,
Well, the uploading to the server part is handled by Dreamweaver and it uploads automatically when changes are made. But this changes are not made from Dreamweaver and thus, he doesn’t realize that change where made and doesn’t upload the files. After you make the change you have to press the “put files” button and it will upload them.
The second version of the menus will be launched this month or the next one.
Best regards,
Andrei Rinciog

And yes, we are working to make the extension without any invalid code by the current standards.
Kind regards,
