Sometimes when using the dropdown menus, it will move in the Safari browser on Mac. For example, I will have menu centered and a couple of hundred pixels down on the page and then sometimes when the page loads, it will place the menu in the top left corner of the browser. I can refresh and make it re-center and I can also continue to refresh to get the problem to occur again on a random basis as I click refresh over and over.

The problem only seems to occur in Safari.

Any thoughts?

Last time I’ve encountered this kind of a problem it was related to either an image or a swf above the menu. The menu didn’t received correctly the position and was rendered above that image or swf, and just after a refresh the menu was positioned correctly.

In case of the image, the client didn’t use the height attribute for the <img> tag and the menu didn’t know from the beginning where to position itself. Only after the picture loaded completely the menu knew where its position was. That’s why after refresh everything seems ok.

In case of the swf, the problem was caused because it was inserted in the page without the use of the embed tag.

Try these two and if the problem persists write again and give me a link to your website or send me a copy of one of your pages to support@extendstudio.com
