box Creative DW Menus Pack
Creative DW Menu Pack is a suite of Dreamweaver extensions that seamlessly blends the flexibility of DHTML and the Flash look and feel to create beautifully web site menus. The extension comes with over 30 built in skins that can be customized to suit the design (colors, fonts, size) and include a smart resize system that preserves round corners and the gradient fills when you change the menu size.

I installed DW CS5 and added the extension for creative menus. When I view existing pages with creative menus within DW, the menus are text only. If I view the file in live view or in a local browser, the menus look and work fine. When I try to edit the menus, I get a message saying "no menus of this type to edit". Am I missing some files?
Thanks,
Hal

Hello,

A cache clearance should fix this one out. Please delete Dreamweaver FileCache file.
The location of the FileCache.dat file depends your operating system and your version of Dreamweaver.
Please follow this link for more details: http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/creative-dw-dropdown-menu/documentation/faq/faq2.html#cache_procedure

Hi Elena,
I deleted the FileCache file for DW CS5 but my menus continue to be text only when viewed from DW CS5. I still have DW 8 installed on my computer until I am comfortable with CS5, could this be part of the problem? I use a template file and when I try to edit the menu, it says no menu of this type to edit, any thoughts on this?
Thanks for your help,
Hal

Hello,

Please try to insert a menu into a new page and see how it behaves. If it still doesn't work there's probably a conflict between 2 extensions.
However, if it works please send us a copy of the page where the menu is not displayed properly by e-mail to support[at]extendstudio.com.

Thank you!

I created a new html file and attempted to insert a new menu. I got an Extend serial number validation form. I assume the serial number it wants is the license number for the Creative DW Drop Down Menu I purchased. I went on line and got my license number and after entering it I got a message saying "license validation failed! Error code:201".

I have three extensions, (1) Dreamweaver HTML5 Pack from Adobe (2) Creative DW Drop Down Menu from Extend and (3) jQuery Powerslider for Dreamweaver from Extend. I removed the jQuery Powerslider extension and restarted DW. I again tried to add a new menu and got the same results.

I removed the Dreamweaver HTML5 Pack but get the same result.

I removed the Creative DW Drop Down Menu extension, downloaded the latest version, and re-installed the extension. I removed the FileCache file, started DW and again tried to install a menu. Unfortunately, I got the same results.

I'm at a loss, any suggestions?
Hal

Hello,

Error #201 message indicates that the license key which you have entered is already in use. If you are trying to install a single user license - you would have to reset the license from the Extend Studio website.
So go to your account reset the license then register your product in the main extension interface in the validation window.
Then insert a menu into a new page and see what's the result you are getting.
HTML 5 Pack from Adobe doesn't need to be removed, you can keep it there.

Elena, you are the BEST! I reset the license, removed the FileCache file and I was able to create a new menu in DW CS5 and it looks correct. I could also open old files and they look correct as well. I opened old files in DW 8 and they still look OK. Many thanks for your rapid responses and all your help!!
