I upgraded to OSX Lion a few weeks ago. I am trying to make changes to my menu now in DW CS5.5 but when I click to add or edit a menu DW crashes. I'm not sure what to do from here.

Do you have special characters in the username or have you installed the OS in another language than English?

The OS is installed in English. I'm not sure what username you mean. My username with you folks has no special characters, neither does my username with Apple. I don't have a user name or password on my DW files because I'm the only one using it.

Hello Kim,
After you upgraded to OSX Lion have you reinstalled the extension? It's required that you reinstall the extensio when you make an update to the OS.
Just disable and enable the extension in Extension Manager to do a reinstall.
I will also send you a patch by email. If extension still doesn't work after reinstall please install the patch that I sent you and try again.

OK, the patch still isn't working. I thought it worked but it didn't. It looks like I can add a menu but I can't edit a current menu.
When I click "Insert Vertical Menu" I get the screen that lets me choose my button style etc so it looks like that works.
If I click "Edit Vertical Menu" & select the menu I want to edit, DW crashes.
Do I have to rebuild my menus from scratch?

I too am having this problem, but not in Lion, in SnowLeopard. DW crashes if I either try to add a new menu or edit an existing menu. Driving me crazy... totally stuck.

I also have this problem, when I try to use this software DW crashes. Strangely I had no problem with the trial version but now I've paid for it it no longer works. I have noticed the download I received when I made the purchase is an old one 1.7.6 but the version on trial is 1.7.8 but I can't find a way to update this. Can you send me the up to date version please?

Oh and an FYI... the website says the latest version is 1.78 but when I download and install it shows 1.76 in Extension Manager

Hello,
Please try a Dreamweaver cache clearance. You'll have to delete the FileCache.dat file from the Dw configuration folder. Here is the path to the configuration folder: C:Users[username]AppDataRoamingAdobeDreamweaver CS5.5Configuration
The version you have downloaded is 1.78, we have just forgotten to change the name for the Extension Manager.
Try this and tell me if that worked!

The issue for me was that I am sitting behind a firewall and Creative Menus was trying to hit the web server. Instead of giving me a message something like "Would you like to update the server?" it just automatically tries to update and if it can't get to the internet it just sat there spinning and for me never timed out with an error message. How do I turn off this auto update and make it manual?

We actually have a fix for the problem on Lion and DW CS5.5
Here's a download for the patch:

After you download the patch install it over the installed full version of the extension.
