Hello,

We added support for iPhone, iPad and other touch devices to Creative Menus by using our latest menu system Flexi CSS Menus.

You can read here how this works: http://www.extendstudio.com/flexi-css-menus-dreamweaver/touch-device-support-creative-menus.html

You will need Flexi CSS Menus extension installed. You can get the demo version for free with a free skin included or get the extension at a special price for being a Creative Menus customer.

Okay, so the way I understand it is that the Creative Menus for Dreamweaver do not work on cell phones, etc. In order to make our menus compatible with devices as well as desktop browsers, we must upgrade to Flexi CSS Menus? What is the "special price" for Creative Menu customers?

I have the same problem so I've downloaded the Flexi CSS Menu Demo and followed this tutorial: http://www.extendstudio.com/flexi-css-menus-dreamweaver/touch-device-support-creative-menus.html...

But I don't find the "Add Touch Device Support" button from the "insert" bar." I have all the 8 other icons from the Creative Menu.

Thanks

I have clients complaining as well about not being able to use the menu.

With the Flexi CSS Menus will be have to rebuild the existing menus on websites already published?

Hello,

No, you can use the fallback patch to make the existing Flash menus on your websites to switch to CSS on iPads or other devices that don't support Flash.

We have a step by step tutorial that covers this:

Let me know if you have any questions.

I own both Flexi Menus & Creative menus & both are installed. I have tried to implement this fix, but I do not see the "Add touch Device Support" option in my Creative Menu insert dropdown list.

Also, I worked really hard to get my creative menu to display properly. With this fix, will I have those same issues or will my current correct layout & positioning work with the replaced Flexi Menu when being used on a mobile device? Just not sure of the result I should expect.

Please help ASAP, critical deadline :(

Hello Karen,

The Flexi CSS Menu will be positioned in the exact same place as the Creative one on devices that don't support Flash.

You have to install the add-on before you can use it in your Dreamweaver. You can find here a download link and documentation on how to use the add-on:

Hi Andrei--

My problem is that I have followed these directions…

"Now you need to add the Flexi CSS Menu created as fallback for your Creative Menu.

Open one of the pages with Creative Menus on it and click on the "Add Touch Device Support" button from the "insert" bar."

… But, I do not have the ""Add Touch Device Support" in my Flexi CSS Menu. What am I missing? I have purchased the product, have it installed, & the registration activated.

Thanks -- Karen

Hello Karen,

You need to install the add-on before you get those buttons in Dreamweaver.

Download the add-on package from here: http://www.extendstudio.com/download/CM_Touch_Device_Support.zip

Extract the contents of the archive and install the add-on using the Extension Manager, just like an extension.

After you install it, restart Dreamweaver and you should see the buttons mentioned in the tutorial.

Hi, I downloaded the trial version to fix the many menus that I have built, but am confused as to what I need to do. It came with one free skin, and the instructions say that I should create the design but leave the structure alone. Do I have to create a similar design for all of my menus? I have so many of them! Also, it appears that if I need to do that I will need to purchase the color package as well. Would you just clarify for me? Also hoping that I can get that special pricing link.

Thank you for your help!

I am having more problems. When I click on ok to insert the menu I get probably 20+ error messages. When I finally click through all of those the menu does not display properly. I deleted the page to start over and then it says that the site already has a menu with that name. When I change the name and try to save I get all the error messages again.

Closed and re-opened dreamweaver and was able to save the menu, but when I try to add touch menu support to my site template with the creative menu it does not recognize the creative menu in the drop down.

Hello,

Please check the file menus.txt from your 'Includes' folder. In this file all the Creative menus created should be listed. If a menu is not there, the add-on can't be applied.
It is possible that you have copied the creative menu in the DW site with the css menu. Please note that both creative and css menus have to be created in the same Dw site. If you create them in different sites, then move them to another site, they won't recognize each other's settings.
If you still can't handle his, maybe you can send us an archive with your site by e-mail to support [at] extendstudio.com in order to see exactly what happens there.

Thank you!

So, reading this I now understand that I need Flexi CSS Menus for the menus to be seen on Smart Phones as well as on web pages seen on a regular computer. I just purchased the DW Menu Pack yesterday.

What I don't understand is Flexi CSS Menus an "upgrade" to Dreamweaver Menus Pack or does it run side by side?

Also, you mention special pricing for the upgrade. If I need this in order for the Menus created with DW Menu Pack to be seen on Smart Phones please send me what I need to upgrade.

Thank you.

Hello,

The Flexi Menus CSS transforms the Creative Menu, which is Flash based in pure css menu, so that it can be displayed on touch devices. It is not an upgrade, it is an add-on and it's free.
Please follow this link for firther details: http://www.extendstudio.com/flexi-css-menus-dreamweaver/touch-device-support-creative-menus.html
You can use the Flexi CSS Menus extension for 10 days trial, then if you decide to buy it, just let me know and I will provide you a buy link.

Hi Elena,

Would you please send me the link to purchase? If someone sent it earlier I did not receive it. I had limited time to spend on the ten day trial and have not figured out how to do the fix, but assume that it wont be too hard. I was having trouble, but I really need to make it work.

Thank you

Hello Elena,

I tried the link and it still does not work. I get a blank cart. I tried to copy and paste the link rather than just click on it and get the same thing. I have tried it on two different computers as well just to be safe.

Anyway, could you check it and resend? Not sure what the issue is.

Thank you.

Hi Elena,

Thanks for the link. I purchased it this morning and just tried it on a site that I am working on. When I build a site I create a blank page, come up with the desgn, convert the page to a template and then create all of my site pages from the template. the menus are never copied from one site to another. When I try to add the touch device support to the template or even just a page of the site it does not recognize the creative menu, only the css menu. The menu.txt file is within the includes/creative menus folder. Can you help me with this?

Thanks,
Sandy

Hello Sandy,

I don't understand exactly how you create the menu in your site. You will have to insert a Creative Menu in one page and then create a new page in the same site and insert a Flexi CSS Menu on it, without modifying the default structure. Focus only on the design of the menu to make it look as you want it.
After this, having both creative and css menus in the same site, you will be able to add touch support.
It would be great if you could send me a screenshot with the structure of your DW local site and the menus.txt file from your 'Includes' folder by e-mail to support [at]extendstudio.com in odrder to take a look.
Thank you!

I was able to successfully use the fallback for using my Creative Menus as Flexi-menus on a smartphone, but suppose I want to add a new button to the menu in the future. Must I save the page containing the fallback Flexi-menu and add the button to it then?

Thanks,
Tony

Hello,

Whenever you want to make modifications to the Creative Menus just open the page where you created it and add the new button.
It will be also saved in the CSS and it will be available on the devices automatically.
