Creative DW Drop Down Menu won't display in IE since the last Microsoft update. I can see it fine in all other browsers. I'm running Windows Vista. I can see it fine on my other computer running Windows XP. I checked and this is also happening with all of my other websites that have Creative DW menus in them. This is not acceptable as this is probably happening on many Windows Vista computers. I need to know that when I make a website for a client with these menus that I'm not going to have to go back and keep updating them because of a Microsoft update or have irate customers. Please help!

Hi Karen,
The menu is working fine on windows VISTA with IE.
What exactly is not working? Please send us the link to the site.
My best guess is that you dont have Flash player installed! Please check to see if this is true by going to http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507

I have flash player installed. I can see the menus fine with all other browsers besides IE. I was able to view the menus in IE last week and this week I can't see them. I can see them on my other computer that is running Windows XP but not on my computer running Windows Vista and it is only Internet Explorer that they don't show up in. The wesite address where one of my sites with Creative DW menu is http://www.goodnewsalley.com. If I didn't have Flash Player installed I wouldn't be able to view the menus in any browser and that's just not the case.

This issue still has not been resolved and I haven't heard from anyone in a couple of days. I have a client waiting for this website to be finished and the only thing holding it back is this issue with the eXtend studio navigation. I looked up the eXtend studio website on my Windows Vista computer and in the Internet Explorer browser even your site is all messed up. All that appears is words. No layout, no images, just a bunch of words on the screen. It looks fine in all the other browsers. I'd really like to know what is going on. I would be happy to send you screen shots if you would tell me where to send them. Please help. I need to know that the eXtend studio navigation that I include in the websites I build for my clients is going to be reliable.
Thank you,

<p>Hello agian Karen, </p>
<p>You just said that you can't see our website in IE7. Probably you saw a bunch of links, which is alternative content for the browses that dont have Flash player installed. You should know that there is a Flash Player Bug and sometimes it fails to properly update in some browsers. In order to solve this download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller from here <a href="http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157">http://kb.adobe.com/ selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157 </a>and install it again in IE 7 from this link: <a href="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BUIGP">http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/ download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BUIGP</a> </p>
<p>You should know that Flash player is installed for each browser and not globally. </p>
<p>This is because each browser has a different plug-in architecture. So again I am suggesting you to test, with IE7 if you have Flash Player installed. I have tested the web page from this address http://www.goodnewsalley.com and I found that the menu is working as it should in IE7 with windows VISTA. </p>
<p> <a href="http://www.extendstudio.com/product_assets/sitescr.jpg" target="_blank">Here</a> is the screenshot of the page in a IE7 with VISTA and the latest updates. </p>

Thank you Catalin...you were right. I don't know why when I updated Flash so many times that it wouldn't update in IE...why it would stop working all together. I'll tell ya I'm really beginning to HATE Microsoft and Internet Explorer. But now I have another problem that I need your help with. Whenever I have more than one menu on a web page the extra menu will often pop out of place and I'll need to refresh the page in order for it to go back to where it's supposed to be. How do I fix this???
Thanks for your help,
Karen Chudobiak

The website is at http://www.webdesignfreebies.com. The first page usually works fine but if you click on some other pages sometimes the bottom navigation pops out of place and I have to refresh the browser to make it go back into place.
Thanks for your help,

Hello Karen,
We have tested the link you sent us on IE7, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Flock, and could not reproduce the problem you encountered. Please tell us on what browser does this problem appear, how often the problem occurs, and also on what operating system (Windows Vista, XP, Mac ...).
Kind regards,
Lavinia Iancu

Hello, and thanks for responding. It doesn't seem to happen all the time but it seems to be the worst in Opera. I've tried it on both my Windows Vista and my Windows XP computer and it happens on both. Maybe if you clear your browser history and try again. It happens much more often on the bottom navigation than on the top. Like I said, it doesn't seem to happen all of the time...just some of the time. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I know I've seen this same issue addressed here in the forum before but I can't remember what your response was to resolve the issue. I also have another website where the navigation isn't sitting where it's supposed to in Opera. The address for that one is http://www.maca-vitality.com. The navigation is supposed to be sitting on top of the green line but it seems to pop to the middle of the green line. Any help you could give me with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and consideration in this matter and I look forward to a response.
Thank you,
Karen Chudobiak

Hi Karen,
I have checked the webpage and I think I found why the problem occurs. First of all I want to tell you that this is not a menu related issue, the problem occurs due to the way CSS rules are applied.
I found that you are using a Table based layout + A div based layout in the same document. Your page is a mix of the two. This is not a good way of creating web page layouts, but if you do please try to include the DIV in a TABLE, this way you will keep the webpage organized and without potential rendering issues.
Also, it is not a good practice to modify a CSS selector (ID or CLASS) across two or more CSS files, this will slow down the deluging process a lot.
Regarding the issue, I think will be solved if you delete the DIV surrounding the menu (it has the ID: clearDiv ) and place the menu in a table element.
