1. I pull up a preset from the last menu I created
2. I try to name it the same name as the last menu I created, so I can pull it back up
3. I get error "another menu with same name exists" and I don't get the option to save it with new name
If I pull up a preset, do I always have to give any menu I save a new name? If so, why?

Hi again,
First of all I want to ask you a question:
- Do you want to use the preset in the same site or another one?
I am asking the above question because it should not be any problems with the workflow described. I followed the same steps and everything worked as it should.
- I have created a preset from a test website
- Then created a new website
- In this website I created a new menu and loaded the preset
- Name it as my last menu and then clicked OK.
- Everything worked

I haven't tried it in another site, maybe that's the problem. If you use it in the same site, you get a warning message that menu already has that name and are not able to use that name. I'll try and see if I can use the same in another site instead, but so far, haven't needed to.
If I wanted to eliminate a menu name in the same site in order to use it again and prevent the warning error above, what file(s) do I have to delete?

Hi,
There are different methods to copy an existing menu and they need to be used according the situation as I will explain in this email.
First method you may think of is to copy/paste the html code from one page to another. We dont recommend this method because the function Update in all pages? will fail and so you wont be able to manage effectively your menu across the website (when you use the Insert Existing Menu?, Edit Menu? or Add Menu? buttons the menu will keep track of the pages that it is placed in). However if you use this method be careful to do one more step click on the EDIT MENU + OK. If you copy the menu from Dreamweaver Website please be careful to copy the includes? folder also. This folder is created automatically by the extension in the root of your website ad contains scripts, skins etc.
Another method that you may use is Insert Existing Menu?. This method works only if in the current DW Website you have created a menu in one page and you want to insert it in all html pages without changing the parameters. Insert Existing Menu knows only the menus from the current website, otherwise will trough an error. (Recommended method for coping a menu from the same DW Site)
If you want to copy a menu from another website you have to first save it as a preset and then go to the new page. Here click on the ADD Menu?, go to the Presets Tab and Load the Preset with or without the menu structure, and thats it.. (Recommended method for coping a menu from another DW Site)
I hope that this clears your problems, if not feel free to contact us at any time.
You cant delete a menu name because it is strongly related with the menu itself. In order to delete the menu name, delete the entire menu, using the delete menu function.
