Using Mac OSX, latest version of Flash player with Dreamweaver CS3:

In Global Security Settings, I put the path to the folder that my single HTML file containing the extension is in, but I keep getting the warning, and as a result, I can't see my submenus when I preview.

When I publish the file using FTP, I see my menu structure vertically aligned with blue text and all underlined as the menu structure only, no graphics.

My file is in this path, which is also the path I put into Global Security Settings: /Volumes/Data Drive D/My Documents/WEB SITES/TWINKLE COUTURE/Site Files/SITE 120507

My file is TCstorebgNEW.html in the SITE 120507 folder on my hard drive.

This is the link to my file:
http://www.twinklecouture.com/BETA/TCstorebgNEW.html

Also, in Preview mode, my links don't work, only when they are published. Is this normal?

Lastly, how about a Preview mode for Mac, instead of just Windows?

Hello,

You can't see the menu after publishing the site (using FTP) because you did not upload the "includes" folder. The extension automatically creates an "includes" folder that contains the menu assets located in the root of the website. You have to upload this folder, too in order for the menu to work.

Regarding the Global Security Settings problem: you have to add the root folder of your website (the one containing the "includes" folder). I guess this would be /Volumes/Data Drive D/My Documents/WEB SITES/TWINKLE COUTURE/ in your case.

Best regards,
Horea RADU.

The first time I uploaded the INCLUDES folder along with my HTML file, I saw the menu graphics. Then I went in, massively modified the menu structure through the extension, republished it, along with the INCLUDES folder to overwrite the previous version, and I am back to seeing only the menu structure in blue vertically, with no graphics. So I am still missing something.

Also, I still cannot get rid of the security warning on preview through browser. I told the settings to go a directory higher, and the first time it worked, and now it does not again. Basically, both issues were only resolved once. After that, they reappeared.

Sorry, let me correct that. I now see the exact same thing in PREVIEW THROUGH BROWSER in DW CS3, as I do when I publish, which is menu structure vertically in blue with no menu structure.

This is after setting Global Security Settings to the folder you suggested. Thanks!

Sorry again, I mean I see it both ways with no menu GRAPHICS, only structure.

Man, it would be nice if we could edit our posts, like a typical forum.

OK, I think I was able to resolve this. I did the following:

1. I made sure the browser Global Security Settings were set to the root folder of my site on my hard drive
2. If I PREVIEWED IN BROWSER in Dreamweaver, it worked the very first time. If I did another preview or made any changes, I would get the Flash warning unless I CLOSED and REOPENED the browser.
3. If the INCLUDES folder is not published to the EXACT SAME location from hard drive to FTP site, the menu will not display graphics, only structure.
4. I reinstalled the extension again, overwrote it and started over, and this seemed to resolve the issues I had.
5. I will now periodically check to see if my changes work, by previewing and publishing via the above steps, since it took me almost 2 hours to build the first one that I "lost."

Hi Mike,
In order to eliminate the warning you only need to do STEP 1? from your list. At this step you can always add the folder where you keep the website or the entire DRIVE. If you add the entire DRIVE then you will no longer have to deal with this issue again!

I wish that were true, but it isn't, in my case, for whatever reason. I have the root of all my web site folders in there, and I still have to keep reopening the browser. I may try the root of the drive, but I heard that was a security risk, so I wanted to avoid that, for now. Thanks.
