Hi - LOVE this product, everything works seamlessly so far, except for one problem:
I'm designing a menu for a client, who wants a specific font for the menu text. I've specified the font when editing the menu, and after publishing to the web, I can see it in MY computer's browser, but my client insists that he can't see the new font when he loads the menu page. Does a user have to have the font installed on THEIR system in order to see it in the DW Menu?

Hello Randy,
Usually there are six safe fonts that can be used on the internet; these fonts exist on almost all machines. Being a web tool, our menus use the same safe fonts. Our menus can be modified to allow a custom font, but for that you need to have Flash 8 or CS3 installed. We will provide a *.fla file in which you need to embed the custom font. After that you need to compile in a swf file then replace the corresponding file in the includes folder. If you are interested in this solution, please contact us at support(at)extendstudio(dot)com. Another option would be that of custom development, this way we will embed the required font in the swf file for you.
Kind regards,
Lavinia Iancu

Hi, I need this solution ASAP, to embed a custom font I need on my menus. I wish it were as easy to do on the DW menus as it is on the Flash menus, where you can embed. Please send it to me ASAP, thanks!

Hello Mike,
We apologize if the previous forum post seemed misleading, but our support team didnt know that this is not a supported feature yet, and requires some additional custom development. It is not just a simple *.fla with a font. However, this can be done through custom development. It will take approximately 10 hours of work. Please let us know if you would like to apply this solution, so we can further discuss it. Thank you for your understanding!
Regards,

What's the cost? Seems like an extraordinarily large amount of work, for a feature already available on your Flash product.
The font I need isn't listed in my extension's font list, but a majority of my other fonts are listed. Will the extension embed any font on that list, or am I limited to the six safe fonts? This is extremely inconvenient, with what appears to be a very costly solution.

Hi Mike,
There are many technical differences between Flash and Dreamweaver environments, especially in what regards the fonts and the fonts embedding procedure. Actually embedding a font in Dreamweaver is tricky.
It takes so much time because the solution needs to be bug free, we need to make sure that will work with all the environments (development environments and viewing environments). What appears to be a simple operation in Flash, takes a lot of time to implement in Dreamweaver. In the future version of the menus this will be a native feature as it is in the Creative DW Image Show PRO. For the current version, it requires tricky workarounds.
Regarding the font issue, can you please tell us if it is True Type Font and if it is installed in your Fonts folder. You can find more about safe web fonts here http://web.mit.edu/jmorzins/www/fonts.html .
Kind regards,
Lavinia Iancu
