Creative DW Menu Pack is a suite of Dreamweaver extensions that seamlessly blends the flexibility of DHTML and the Flash look and feel to create beautifully web site menus. Hello, I use your menu on www.primadesign.com ... I am using IE8 and see the menu no problem... I have a client using IE 7 that says they cannot see the menu... now I'm wondering how many people can't see my menu and can't navigate my site... this is a HUGE concern... please advise.

Anyone using anything besides IE8, if you could have a look and see if you see the black menu bar above the three colour boxes, I'd appreciate it and let me know what browser u are using. Thanks!

Hello Denise,

I've just tested your page on Chrome, Mozilla, IE 7 and IE 8 and Opera and it's working fine in all of them except IE 7. The problem is created by the menu visibility fix that I sent you. I've revised that fix and tested again on all browsers and it works. You can download the new fixed js from here: http://www.extendstudio.com/product_assets/support_files/menuDisplay.zip

Download it and place it on your server inside "includes/Creative_menu". Make sure you replace the old one.

Kind regards,
Andrei

Ok, I have done that to www.primadesign.com and waiting for my client that has IE7 to look at it. Thanks.

Oh, when will you be updating the CW Menu Pack to automatically do this?

Hi Denise,

We will make an update as soon as possible. That update will give you the possibility to hide the menu by puttin 'visibility:hidden' on the menu holder div.

I don't know when exactly will be available, sorry.

Does the menuDisplay.js need to be copied somewhere on the local machine so it doesn't get overwritten on the server each time?

Thanks

Hello,

Well, we will make an update soon but if you don't want to wait you can do this manually. What you need to do is to replace the same file inside Dreamweaver's configuration folder. You can find the path to the configuration folder here: http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/creative-dw-tabbed-menu/documentation/faq/faq2.html#cache_procedure

Inside that configuration folder go to "shared/Extend/Creative Menus/" and place the file there. It will ask you to replace an existing one.

You should still install the update when it comes because it will have some other bug fixes.

Hello,

BlackBerry devices don't support Flash that's why they can't see the menu.

Hello,

It looks like the IPhone doesn't support flash either. Is there a test that we can use to display a non-flash menu if a IPhone or Blackberry is detected?

I'm also having the same issue w/ Image Show Pro, so I could use the detection to work around it.

Hello,

I've put this on our feature request. We will try to think of some way of making the menu visible even without Flash for future updates.

I just bought creative menus for CS4 Dreamweaver for the Mac. First problem, I only see an icon after creating on HTML page in dreamweaver. No menu is seen in design mode. Second problem is when I go to locally view, I can see all except the drop down menu. I receive an error message stating "When testing on your computer please adjust your flash player local settings. This will not be necessary for your website visitors or when testing on a webserver." How do I do this exactly?

Hello Lisa,

The first problem that you are reporting it's the normal behavior of the extension. We can't render the menu inside Dreamweaver. So we add an image in order to give you an idea of where the menu will be placed in browser.

For the second problem, you need to add the folder of your website on the trusted locations list for the Flash Player. You can do that from the Global security settings panel : http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html

Just click on 'Edit locations..', browse for folder and add a folder that includes your website.

Hi Andrei,

Have problem with menu in IE7 and did what you said above etc... but it's not showing and the page looks wacky...

http://www.lifestylerezolutions.com

When will you build in cross platform functionality with this issue of links appearing before menu loads? Very frustrating for such a great product otherwise!

Hi-I have been using Dreamweaver CS3 and have enjoyed the Creative Menu without much problem. However, I recently upgraded to Dreamweaver CS5 and lost the capability to view (on the internet) the menus on webpages. They show up in the working stage and when I go "Live View" in Dreamweaver.
Help-what should I do??
Thanks.

Hello,

Do you have the website on a server or do you test locally? If you have a testing server, upload the entire website and check the page again.

We haven't made any major changes to the extension for it to work on CS 5. Also, the Dreamweaver version doesn't affect the way the extension works in browsers. If it works in Dreamweaver it should in browsers as well, if all the files are placed correctly.
