When you come to the home page or any other page on my website, one of the menu selections is highlighted. How do I take this off?

Hello,
The Creative Menu handles button persistence automatically. It reads the URL from the browser address bar and makes some comparisons in order to determine which button corresponds to the page and will make the corresponding button be selected. For example, if we have the following menu structure:

Home,http://www.extendstudio.com/home.html
Products,http://www.extendstudio.com/Products/ All_Products/ products.html
Forum,http://www.extendstudio.com/Support/Forum/ forum.html
and the URL in the browser address bar is:
http://www.extendstudio.com/Products/All_Products/ products.html

the Products button will be automatically selected.

This also works with relative paths. For example, if we have the following structure:

Home,home.html
Products,products.html
Forum,forum.html
and the URL in the browser address bar is:
http://www.my_web_site.com/products.html

the Products button will also be automatically selected.

In your case you have 2 buttons with the same address http://www.applaud-designs.com/ and this is causing the buttons related issue. In order to fix it you should use unique URLs otherwise the automatic button persistace will fail.

This makes sense in theory, however, in my case, it doesn't apply. My home page is index.html on my domain straightlinetactical.com, yet my 2 buttons on the end of each menu (I put in 2 menu bars due to the number of buttons I needed on the menu), are SURVIVAL GEAR and BOOKS & VIDEOS. The linked pages for these buttons are not yet created and will eventually link to a third party site, not on my domain.

You may view this issue at www.straightlinetactical.com. Thank you.

Hi,

I went to the address you indicated but there was no menu on the page. Please send us the link to the page that contains the menus.

Best regards,
Horea RADU.

It's there now.

Please advise as to why one menu button per menu on the home page is pre-highlighted. Thanks!

Hi Mike,

The buttons are highlighted because of you have the same link on many of the buttons (www.straightlinetactical.com). The button that corresponds to the page you are on is automatically highlighted.

Horea RADU.
