Hi >> helprn I have purchased both the DW drop down and DW vertical menu and have down loaded both tutorial files > Click here to download the required files for solving this tutorial.skin, and followed the instruction on how to create both custom skins. and when i finish the result was the same as the tutorials and thats fine. And i like tutorial menus very much they matches the color of my website which is blue and white. ( but ) i can't change the skin color of the tutorial menu which is black ( to blue or gray ) and i try to re-size the drop down menu to make it smaller to fit in my website header I tried the resize tool but it won't re-size > it is to big for my site header and it messes up my swf image in my site header. ((((( what confuses me is that the tutorials shows how to create a custom skin ( but ) with the download files>main_back_Blue_Skin, main_button_up_Blue_Skin etc.. already made and use as an example ( so ) dose that mean i have to create my own files if i want a different skin or if i want the skin to be blue or if i want to re-size the menus? if so, how and where do i find the information to do that. >> This is why i have been stuck where i am since my purchase. With the FL MENUES i saw a tutorial on how to create a custom skin by creating the files for it, but the DW menus i did not see a tutorial on how to create the files. If i am missing something here let me know.. thank you await your response as soon as you can...

Hello Hanif,
The skin files presented in that tutorial are just a sample meant to give you an idea how the skin files should look like. However, the creation of those images did not enter in the scope of that tutorial. It just gave you some example of how different elements should look like and how to include them in the menu.
You can create the elements with any image editing program. For example, you can create in Fireworks or Photoshop a square with the same shape "main_back_Blue_Skin.jpg" but using the color that you want. Or you could edit that image and change its color.
We will take into consideration the request for a tutorial on how to create those images. I don't know when it will be created though. So, if you need more help please send an email at support at extendstudio.com and I will asssist you further.
Regards,
Andrei Rinciog

if so just delete this one.... And i understand that the download files with the tutorial on how to create a dropdown customs skin menu is use as an example. It is perfect for my site and i have been searching for a long time for a menu for my site and this is it i love this menu. (even though it is only use as an example ) can i use it on my site and all i need to do is resize it (CAN I RE-SIZE IT ?) make it smaller because it is to big for my website header ..... there has to be a way inside or maybe outsde the creative program. since there is no way i can create another that look just like this one am hoping i can just resize it make it smaller. i am using DW CS4 but i also have macromedia flash 8 any ideas? thank you

(I want to apologized before hand for this long imail).... my site is far from ready to be published but and i am working on making my site tamparary viewable so you can see what my site looks like and how i want to implement this menu in my header i will sen you a link as soon as its done in the mean time if you want to make the image smaller for me the sizes are below
ok, you said you can resize the image for me the size i want to go with is a smaller size heigh = 38 and width = 750 same size for both the main menu and submenu. This size should should make both main and submenu share the equal amount of space in my header heigh and width wise between the main menu and one level submenu when the submenu appears coming from right to left in a sliding motion. Meaning when the submenu opens up sliding from left to right i want it so close to the main menu that they should actually be touching each other and this size should keep the submenu inside the blue area of my site header without crossing over the bottom blue linning of my header into the white page area. i would like the submenu when open up sliding from left to right to be ( flush ) with the bottom blue linning area of my header without crossing into the white area of my page.
> >>>> if i make the heigh of the image menu larger than 15 when displayed in live view or in a browser my swf image in my header is all distorted, meaning the image opens up the header makes it wider expanding the swf image creating a distortion. so if you are able to resize the image for me to size > heigh 38, i still have to some how figure a way for it to be placed in my site header without any distortion. i also noticed that no matter how small i try to reduce the size of the image the ( menu ) itself stays the same size big and bulky and the image will only be reduced to the size of the menu thus the whole image stays the same size> to big and overlaping from the my site header.
>>>>> And if i make the heigh 15 and under when displayed in a browser at first a long thin line appears and only when i place the mouse over the line the menu then appears ( but ) still big and bulky no change to the size of the image.
>>>>> And is there any reason why or a fix to why when my site first opens up that the header opens up really wide displaying only the menu text on the top right of the header then the header snaps back into place?

i have already given you the sizes of the image so you can resize it for me as you requested ( but ) i need to send you a link to my site so you can see it and have an idea how i want to implement your menu in my site header.I need your help in this area> i still have the original menu in my site header HOME, ABOUT US, CONTACT, PRIVACY POLICY with links working from one to another but, i am trying to replace it with the custom skin dropdown menu with the links working because that is the only way i believe you will able to see the custom skin menu displayed in my site header. because i remove my original menu on ( my home page ) and inserted the custom skin menu ( but ) there is no links to to the custom skin menu so my home page will not open up in the browser and this is the page i want you to view. >>>>>>> so how do i create links to the texts in the custom skin menu and to the rest of my pages because when a menu is created and inserted > lets say in my site index header in design view, the menu text is not accessable or viewable for linking them to the rest of my website pages. ((((( in the mean time i will sen you a link to the ABOUT US page at support@extendstudio.com because i do not want my site to be viewed by anyone else just yet)))))) but if you try to click on the home button where the custom skin is implemented you will get a blank page.
