Since it doesn’t appear to be possible to search this support discussion for similar threads, Ive posted this new one but I suspect is a common bug; it must frustrate you that you have to provide the same answers each time.

A few weeks ago I purchased and installed the following products from you:
Creative TextFX
Creative MovieFX
Creative FlashFX
Creative DW Image Show PRO

Since its only a short time since doing this I assume these are the latest versions and have the most recent bug fixes and so, at last, to my problem.
When using Creative MovieFX in Flash CS3 with a SWFmovie on the stage with the Creative MovieFX placed over it and some default settings on the MovieFX interface panel, I keep getting the following error returned: WARNING: PREVIEW FILE NOT FOUND whenever I click on ‘preview’.

To fill you in on other issues and difficulties that may be part of the problem, I had problems with the registration / licence and after uninstalling and reinstalling the products a couple of times, I managed to get a l registration number to work. During the installations a dialogue box came up that invited me to overwrite various files from the other products. I clicked ‘yes’ to all of these.

Can you please help?

Hello Peter,

It is possible that the extension manager installed some of the files in a different directory than the one of your user. Because of this, the component cannot find certain files needed.

In this case, I think that you don’t have the required FLA file for the preview named “preview_movie.fla”. The location of the file is:

“[user]/Application Data/Local/Adobe/Flash/[language]/Configuration/Extend/MovieFX_v2/preview/” on Windows or

“[user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash/[language]/Configuration/Extend/MovieFX_v2/preview/” for MAC.

If you can’t find it on your user and language, try on different users on your computer or, if you have any, other languages folders. If you find it in a wrong place, just copy it to the location above. It is possible, if that file was inserted wrong, that other files may have been misplaced as well. Check for any other extend files and copy them in the right place.

We are sorry for the inconveniences caused by this problem. If it persist, please give us more details about the operating system you have and language that you use.

Regards,
