Hi,
I just downloaded the demo to try, and I need to use V1 as I am doing a screens based Flash project that doesn't allow you to use AS3.
However, as soon as I drag the component onto the stage in a blank AS2 document it pauses, and then warns of a script making my computer run slowly- do I want to abort it. If I press no, Flash crashes, if I press yes, it just does the same thing again 30 seconds later.
I don't think the component inspector is showing what it is supposed to either, as it has no controls - just help and FAQ buttons.
I am using a Mac OS 10.5.6, and Flash CS4.

Hello,
Yes, this is a known issue. Creative TextFX v1 isn't working in Flash CS 4. We are apologize for this inconvenience.

Thanks for the reply.
This is a shame, as AS3 wont work with a Screen presentation, so therefore TextFX v1 was to be my only option.
Maybe you could pop a note on your website to prevent others having the same frustrations as me?

So what are users of v1 to do? Are you going to fix it or are we forced to upgrade? It would be really helpful if you would add this bit of information on the product page.

Hello,
The Creative TextFX v1 product page has been removed from our website as it is now a discontinued product.
After Flash CS4 appeared, we made tests for TextFX v1 and realized that it wasn’t compatible. In order to make it compatible a total rebuilding was needed as it was impossible to use the old component and make it to work in CS 4. Also, the older version was written in AS 2 and it didn’t have the advantages that come with AS 3. Creative TextFX v2 was our response to Flash CS4. We apologize to all of you who still want to use TextFX v1 with Flash CS4. We hope that you understand that it’s hard to make a product compatible with a platform that will be launched so far in the future ( TextFX v1 was launched when Flash 8 was used).
Regards,
Andrei
