I've got Flash CS4 and Text FX v2 and I am having problems even with the most basic of situations... just using it! I had entered a simple title "Unlimited Levels of Versatility" in Arial font. Each preview I tried no matter what animation or font did not show the phrase correctly. It came back sometimes missing the "U" and "V", sometimes the "U", "V", and "Y" obviously making the phrase useless. I have the most current downloads and updates that I know about so... What is going on? I've tried other phrases and the same thing happens it takes out random letters? Ummm ok? What's that all about?

Funny enough that I am the type of person that hates for software to not work properly and me not figure it out but also that no one else was having this issue. I have figured out why my own posted issue occurred. Somehow, before I even tried to use the TextFX tool I just tried to type in the phrase mentioned above as regular static text and it turned out fine. But one thing I noticed is that it was showing vertically. Why it was set to vertical alignment is beyond me since i don't use that attribute at all. Anyway, once horizontal alignment was chosen the TextFX v.2 worked fine. So if anyone else has this issue check your text alignment! ~ ULOV.com

Hello Chris,

Good to hear that your problem has been solved, but it's very odd that the alignment had to do anything with the component. You insert the text in the interface of the component, not in a TextField, and there is no way you can set the text to be aligned vertically. Are you saying that you copied the text from there and pasted in a textfield and it aligned vertically ? We will make some tests to try and find this and we would be very grateful if you could give us a little more details.

Best regards,

Hello Andrei,

Let me clarify myself on my findings.

Issue: I entered text, without the use of the TextFX component just straight into a text field. The font reacted fine, all the missing letters showed. So, I went back into the TextFX component typed the same phrase and again the fonts mentioned above were still missing.

What happened: As you know when you change the text in the text area in anyway a warning comes up and tells you to embed the font correct? Well, I started poking around trying to look at every aspect of what was created by the component to see why only those letters would not show no matter which font I used. That's when I noticed in the "TextFX_Instance_0_embededFonts" in my library, when I clicked on this the fonts appeared but they appeared vertically... I thought this was strange and thus changed the alignment setting to read this text horizontal. After that all the letters appear correctly the the TextFX component... I don't know what went wrong, how it went wrong, or even where the issue was at... I'm just saying this is what happened, that is what I changed and now everything is fine!!??

Hello again Chris,

Thank you for posting this. We will analyze further and see what we can fix to prevent this from happening.
