I am trying to set up the creative textfx in flash, after entering the license number I am getting error code #661, registration failure. What do I need to do to fix this? I never received an confirmation e-mail after purchasing the product I was pulling the license number off of my account info.

Hello,

This is a little bit strange, are you sure you are copying the license correctly from your account ? I’ve tried to register a component with your license and it worked. You receive an error from our server, so you can connect to it. Please make sure that you type the license correctly.

Best regards,

I'm getting the exact same error message that melinda is getting when trying to register my components in Flash CS4. I too never recieved any email other than what's in my account info and a reciept. Please help.

Hello,

The error 661 means that somehow the licensing process can’t access our server in order to check the license. Do you have something that blocks Flash’s access to the internet, something like a proxy server or a firewall ?

I use mcafee as firewall software but Flash s allowed incoming and outgoing communication. The Flash welcome screen communicates with the internet to display recent patches or information about that product so I know that it has access. I will disable the firewall and see if that helps. I will then let you know what happens. Thank you.

Hello,

I just had a desktop sharing session with another user that reported this issue. The problem was that he was trying to register Creative TextFX v2 with the Creative TextFX license instead of the FlashFX license.

When you buy the FlashFX package, your license key for both MovieFX v2 and TextFX v2 is the FlashFX license. The other licenses that you have on your account, you receive them free and they are for the AS 2 components Creative TextFX, Creative MovieFX and Creative Scroller.

Maybe this information might help you.
