Hello Chris,
I've sent you a sample file that shows you how you can use dynamic text with Creative TextFX v2.
As I've told you on the email, you can't change the target text of an instance of TextFX. You will have to load another instance and drop the first one. Just look on the AS part of the manual and you will find more information about how you can work with your component from ActionScript.
Best regards,

I have been trying to use the TextFx component in a closed captioning project. I have the captions displaying in a text box located outside of the FLVPlayback component. Everything works fine. How can I use your product to apply text effects to the captions in this kind of project?
Thanks,
Harold

Hello,
You must use the component dynamically and create instances from actionscript. You can find more about how to use the component from actionscript from this help page: http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/creative-textfx-v2/documentation/tutorials/how-to-configure-creative-textfx-from-as.html
Also, you should check the actionscript dictionary that you can find in the documentation:http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/creative-textfx-v2/documentation/
If you need more help please send us a detailed email with what you are trying to do.
Regards,
Andrei Rinciog
