Are you loading an AS3 flash document? The proper FXV2 will only show if you are using AS3.

Hello guys,
If Chuck’s solution didn’t work ( btw. thank you for your response ) maybe you didn’t activate TextFX for Flash CS4. First of all, do you have Adobe Extension Manager for CS4 installed ? If not, go and install it and then open the mxp file with that version. If you’ve already done that, maybe you’ve activated the component only for CS 3. Open Extension Manager CS 4, select Flash CS 4 from the products list on the left and then check the box in front of Creative TextFX v2.
If the problem still persists please write to us again.
Best regards,
Andrei Rinciog

This information is dedicated to the Extend Studio team and otherrs users as very important (applied to Full as well to Demo instalation on non English Window Vista x32 and x64)
1. When you install The Suite CS4 (Design Premium CS4) on localized version of Vista ( sample Polish) then the Extension Manager from the Start Menu creates local folders in users/AppData/local/FlashCS4/pl . In this folder all information about extension is written.
2. This local folder is not visible by the non localized applicatios ( Dreamweawer or Flash CS4 English. This is the reason why extensions are visible in Localized Extension Manager but not visible in the English application.
To install Extensions propery you must:
1.Use Extension Manager activated from the application (Dreamwewer Flash CS4 help/Manage Extensions)
2. After instalation you will see them active.
3. Close the Application.
4. Go to Windows Menu Start and Run Extension Manager ( You will see Entension installed but not Active)
5. Activate the extension
Now all is visible, active and working perfectly.

Yes this help:
To install Extensions propery you must:
1.Use Extension Manager activated from the application (Dreamwewer Flash CS4 help/Manage Extensions)
2. After instalation you will see them active.
3. Close the Application.
4. Go to Windows Menu Start and Run Extension Manager ( You will see Entension installed but not Active)
5. Activate the extension
but now using the component Flash crashes immediately by opening the omponent property...

Hello Christian,
Let's take a couple of steps back first. So, you have Flash CS 4 on Windows 7. You install the TextFX v2 extension using the CS 4 Extension Manager. At this point, the component should be installed and activated in your extension manager and should be available in AS 3 documents inside Flash.
I have Flash CS 4 on Windows 7 as well and everything works fine.
The only thing that I can think of that might create problems is the language of the operating system. Sometimes the Extension Manager copies the component files in a wrong language folder based on the language of your operating system. Check Flash configuration folder from C:Users[Your_Usernaem]AppDataLocalAdobeFlash CS4 if you have multiple language folders. If you do, check each one if you have a folder called "extend" inside. If you find it, copy the entire content of that language folder in the other.
If you want, we can make a desktop connection and I can help you with the installation process.

Andrei Rinciog

- click the component property button >> crash
there is only "en" as languge in my CS4 Flash.
would be nice to make a desktop connection,

Hello Christian,
TextFX v1 is not compatible with Flash CS4 and CS5. This is a known issue and that's why we have stopped selling it and included for free in the TextFX v2 package.
Can you try TextFX v2 component and see if its working?
If not, please send an email at support at extendstudio.com and I will give you more details for the connection.
Regards,
Andrei

Hi Christian,
I understand, maybe you have a CS 3 version still installed? You also can use it from code and instantiate the component from AS.
Here's a tutorial that might help you: http://www.extendstudio.com/documentation/creative-textfx/documentation/tutorials/how-to-use-with-actionscript.html
