Has this been tested through CS 5.5? It worked fine for me on CS 4, but after reinstalling it for 5.5 I get nothing but errors. Here is a common one:

ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable ShockingFlakesEffect is not defined.
at global/flash.utils::getDefinitionByName()
at xtd.textFX_v2::TextFXMain()
at xtd.textFX_v2::ComponentTextFX/enterFrame()

and:

internalId = 0 [class ComponentTextFX] Warning: There are 2 ore more components with the same name on the stage. Please RENAME the duplicate components and EMBED the text of the renamed components.You can rename it by accesing TextFX pannel / Text Tab / Other options (located at the bottom end of the interface).

I know that there is only one component in the file because I've rebuilt it three times trying to get rid of this message. Thanks for any help.

Hello,

After you installed CS 5.5 have you reinstalled the component or just imported it from CS4?

I've actually reinstalled it three times now. Is there something else I should try?

Hello,

If you try to use the component inside a new and empty FLA document you get the same errors?

Could you please send me a copy of the FLA file by email at support at extendstudio.com?

Hello,

Have you dragged an instance of the component on the stage before you opened the interface?

What version of the extension do you try to use? ActionScript 2 or ActionScript 3?

I am experiencing exact same problem. I've re-installed several times, opened existing docs, started new docs, everything...5.5 is not showing this as a component at all.

Please advise.

Hello,

This issue is usually happening when you are opening Action Script 2 document and it works only with Action Script 3.
Are you using AS2?
