I am updating an old flash file that was created over two years ago. While opening the file to change a Creative Text to update text it asks for the serial number which I put in and when I hit proceed I get the following error message:
While executing in (name of file) the following Javascript error(s) occurred:
Rerference error: Extend lib not defined
I cannot get past this error message to update the file.

Yes - reinstalled the complete program with no luck. This is happening on two different computers with two different serial numbers with the same result.

Just to make sure - today I re-installed the program on both computers and got the same error message on both computers.
So the program has been re-installed twice on each computer with no luck.
It aks for the serial number, it validates the serial number and then you get the error message.

Hello again Steve,
If you drag a new instance of the component in a new FLA does the component work?
Maybe we can set up a desktop sharing session so we can check out what happens on your computer.

Oh, one more thing.
Have you dragged the component again from the components panel in that FLA file? It should tell you if you want to replace the existing component, choose to replace it.
Regards,
Andrei

That worked, but defeated the whole purpose. I had to recreate the entire text file and all parameters, when all I needed to do was change one word.

Hello again,
You had to recreate the component because the one that you had on your FLA was a very old one. There were changes made to the component in the meantime. That's why the extension needed to be updated.
