Hello Joe,
The extension are installed using Adobe's Extension Manager. It's perfectly safe to install the extension. It won't modify any of the existing Dreamweaver files.
If you don't like the extension, you can simply remove the extension using the Extension Manager. Only the files needed by the extension are removed.
