Hello,
My development computer is not normally connected to the internet because of the number of viruses and other issues with the web. I purchased both the CreativeMovieFX and CreativeTextFX but neither will work on my computer unless it is always connected to the internet.

Is there anyway for me to use your products without maintaining a constant internet connection?

If the only way to use your products is to be connected to the internet, how do I request a refund?

Hi Tim,

The components can be used without constantly being connected to the internet. The only time is it required is web you are licensing the extension or the component for the first time.

Hi,
The reason that I thought I needed to always be connected to the internet is this line from the EULA.
"Some of the Extend Studio products include a licensing system that reads a hardware code from your computer and makes a periodical check of your serial number."

I have done some more testing and this is what I have found.
1) I enabled the extension on my laptop and reset the serial number on your website.
2) I am able to use the extension until I try to open one of the included examples. Once I open an example, everytime I try to use the extension I am prompted to enter my serial number. Inputting my serial number fails until I reset it on your website. Then I can use the components once and then I am prompted again for the serial number. I input it, it fails, I need to reset on your website, I get one more use of the component.
3) The only way I have found to fix this is to disable the extension and then enable it.

I don't know why this happens but can guess that the serial number is embeded in the FLA file. This would make it impossible to work with others on a project because our serial numbers would cause conflicts.

Hi Tim,
In order to fix this, as i said in my last email, please download the latest version of the components from your account section on the Extend Studio website. You may need to reactivate the license when reinstalling.

Also please use the sample files from the current version not from the last one.

You are receiving this error when opening the sample files because we have changed the licensing algorithm with one that is much more lighter, and the samples had the old version of the component; this is fixed now.

Ok, I've downloaded the products again and have registered them on my laptop, which is connected to the internet. I will reset them and resume my testing on my development machine tonight.
