Hi Mike,

Yes, our products are browser compliant.

Creative Slide Show is no longer offered for sale, but we still offer support for the existing customers. At the moment there is no other product to take it's place, but soon we will come up with a significantly improved product.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reply to this post.

Best regards,
Horea RADU.

I have 10 layers that I need to fade in and out as in a slide show. I have them one on top of another starting with 1 at the bottom. I've staggered the wait time and duration by 30 seconds on each layer (30 &60, 60 & 90 and so on). I'm only seeing the top layer or two when I play it. How would I lay out these layers?

Worked it out. Now, how do I combine moviefx with layers with motion tweens?

Hello, Ben
Regarding you first question I am glad that you resolved the issue. To prevent this for happening in the future I suggest you to Check? the checkbox labeled Start Hidden?. This means that the targeted Flash MovieClip will be hidden during the wait? period.

You can combine timeline animation very easy with Creative MovieFX. Any Imported animations from external software (ex: 3D software, animation software, etc) or other animations created with Flash, can be controled with Creative MovieFX . This can be achived using the Frame? effect from the Custom? category.

You can send us the *.fla with the issue at support(at)extendstudio(dot)com.

When I test my movie only the bottom right hand corner of the clip is having the effect applied - at the end of the effect the rest of the clip displays.

Is there a setting or resolution I should be adjusting on my movie clip

PS I'm using Flash 8 professional

Hello Jenifer,
In order the effects to work correctly you have to place the contents of the MovieClip, on which you had applied an effects, at the X:0, Y:0? position. To do this fast you can use the Align? panel and click on the Align Left Edge? and Align Top Edge? ( highlighted with yellow in the picture below) pr you can set the X and Y from the Propertied Tab.
More about this can be found in HELP panel under Creative MovieFX.
If this doesnt solve your issue you can send us the .FLA file at support (at) extendstudio (dot) com.

Hi Edgar,

Everything you need to know about adding actions to your buttons can be found in the documentation. Go to Flash Help Panel (please make sure that you have All Books selected), at there you will find a Help BOOK with your product name in it.

Cheers,

I have just bought extend drop down menu. When i installed it, it worked okay but when i try to edit a menu, it detects the menu but nothing comes up in the codebox on the fist page. Also, when I go to preview, I get the following:

"While executing onClick in xtd_CM_CreateMenu.htm, a javascript error occurred."

I have already deleted the configuration file in dreamweavers application data, uninstalled all my extensions and re-installed. I still have the same problem.

I have written a few emails to extend studio for advice but have not received a reply.

My request is very simple - HELP me or give me a refund

Thanks

Hello Chris,

We did receive a message from you about a javascript error, but after that (during the same day) we received another message saying you were not having the problem any more. That is why you did not receive a reply from us.

Also, your order for Creative DW Drop Down Menu dates from 09/21/2007. Did the extension work fine until now? Or did you not install it until now?

Could you, please, tell me what operating system and what version of Dreamweaver you are using?

Also, please download the latest version of the extension (we just released version 1.1.0 that contains some new features, improvements and fixes). You can download it by logging into your extendstudio.com account and using the download link in the Account -> My Products page. Upon installing the new version, the extension may ask for your serial number again. Before validating you will have to reset your serial number. You can do this by using the Reset link in the Account -> My Products page after logging into your extendstudio.com account.

Please send me the requested information along with a screenshot of the error at support[AT]extendstudio[DOT]com and I will assist you.

Best regards,
Horea RADU, Extend Studio.

I had the same issue re the javascript error (same error). After *hours* of trying to debug it I finally found that at least 3 out of the 4 products I'd downloaded were corrupt. I downloaded them directly from the Extend site and they finally installed correctly. Actually just had the same thing occur with the updated MovieFX download. Took me 3 tries to get a clean, uncorrupted download. For what it's worth.

Hi again, I sent a message to say it was okay but within minutes sent another to say it wasn't. It was the first time that I got the opportunity to use it and I was trying to demonstrate the options to a client. As you might imagine, it didn't go too well and I ended up using something else.

My point is that I get two javascript errors when I try to preview. However, when I first go in to a fresh site, if I open it, it works. I can see the example menu on the first page. However, if I close and then try to edit, the problem occurs. Clicking the edit menu button brings up the box to select the menu, then when you open up the main interface, there is no menu and when you preview, you get the javaScript errors.
If i then add a menu to the blank space and try prieview, the same problem happens.

My OS is windows XP and DW8

Look, don't get me wrong, I like this extension, I just want it to work without hassles

Hi, I have your Extend Studio menus for Dreamweaver. I am using it with Dreamweaver CS3. I have created an Extend Studio menu. I placed it on a blank HTML page called test.html. After setting my global security settings panel, I tested the test.html and the menu works perfectly. But, then I copied and pasted all of the menu code (including the swfobject.js and the menuDisplay.js scripts, which were placed in the header) into another html page that had been previously created. Both the index.html and the test.html are in the same directory. Now, on the index.html page there are no buttons. The only thing I can see is a missing graphic x? and an outline of the menu box where the menu would be. It appears to be in the right location if I could only see it. I can still view the menu on the test.html page but, I can not see it on the index.html page. Please help.

Note: In addition to the [<script type="text/javascript"> buildMenu() </script>] script there is one other [<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">], which is used for preloading images. I am not sure if they could be having a conflict or not. But, even if they are I am sure you must have a work around since most websites will require preload of images these days.

This very fancy and pretty forum does not allow the function of editing my post, so I will try to repost in hopes that this time the javascript code will show below, after removing the closing and opening tags. Ahhh! Sometimes we have to sacrifice beauty for functionality.

Note: In addition to the [script type="text/javascript" buildMenu script script] there is one other [script language -"JavaScript" type -"text/JavaScript], which is used for preloading images. I am not sure if they could be having a conflict or not. But, even if they are I am sure you must have a work around since most websites will require preload of images these days. Just imagine the javascript code was pasted correctly.

Ok I got this to work, at last. The post regarding adding the document type helped, but that is not what solved the problem for me. It seems deleting the button and re adding it for the 4th time is what did it. I don't know what changed but it seems to work now. Now, the only issue I have is the opposite of what I have been reading from some others in the forum here. The drop down menu shows just fine. But, when I try to select the text on the page, there is a big grey box that appears over the text. It seems to be the same size as the window used when creating the buttons. Is there anyway to get rid of that or to at least make the grey box the same size as the buttons? I am assuming it may be the transparent .swf in which the buttons are held, but I may be wrong about that. Either way, I would like to make sure the text is selectable again. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello,

Could you, please, send me a link to the page containing the menu so I can see exactly what happens?

Regarding the first problem, I think it had something to do with the fact that you copy/pasted the whole menu. There is a button in the Insert Bar (Insert Existing Menu) that can be used to insert an existing menu in another page.

If you have any other problems, please feel free to reply to this post.

I just download and installed the demo version of "Creatvie FL Drop Down Menus". When setting up my menu structure I always get a button with "extendstudio.com". Is this due to the fact it's the demo version or do I have an error in the structure somewhere?

Hi Bruce,

Yes, this happens because it is a demo version. The commercial version does not display the extendstudio.com button.

Hello Alan,

In case you receive the 202 error code, it means that the serial isnt correct. Could you please re-enter it while making sure that there arent any spaces or other characters in it?

If this doesnt work, please give us the serial by email and we will verify it and we will get back to you.

In case you receive the 201 error code, you have to reset the license. Usually this problem appears when you are reinstalling the extension or when you are using it on another computer, other than the one where you have been using it for the first time.

In order to transfer the license from one computer to another or to reactivate it after an installation you have to reset the license; to do that you have to:

Login to your Extend account
After that go to Account> My products
Click on the correspondent Reset Key button
Now you can type the serial again in the validation pop-up window

If you have any more problems, please feel free to contact us and we will assist you.

Sincerely,
Monica Chitu.

Hi,
I am having issues with the vertical drop down menu. I didn't seem to have this problem previously.
When I go to insert the menu, it shows up as a bunch of lines o text(like the menu buttons names)and even the movie text demo shows up in the list. When I preview in the browser, the menu looks fine. Any ideas?
I did see a note about java script on the bottom of the page after adding it. I have it in my folder of my root site.
anyone have this issue?

Hello,

There are different methods to copy an existing menu and they need to be used according the situation as I will explain in this email.

First method you may think of is to copy/paste the html code from one page to another. We dont recommend this method because the function Update in all pages? will fail and so you wont be able to manage effectively your menu across the website (when you use the Insert Existing Menu?, Edit Menu? or Add Menu? buttons the menu will keep track of the pages that it is placed in). However, if you use this method be careful to do one more step click on the EDIT MENU + OK. If you copy the menu from Dreamweaver Website please be careful to copy the includes? folder also. This folder is created automatically by the extension in the root of your website ad contains scripts, skins etc.

Another method that you may use is Insert Existing Menu?. This method works only if in the current DW Website you have created a menu in one page and you want to insert it in all html pages without changing the parameters. Insert Existing Menu knows only the menus from the current website, otherwise you will receive an error. (Recommended method for copying a menu from the same DW Site).

If you want to copy a menu from another website you have to first save it as a preset and then go to the new page. Here click on the ADD Menu?, go to the Presets Tab and Load the Preset with or without the menu structure, and thats it.. (Recommended method for coping a menu from another DW Site).

I hope that this clears your problems, if not, feel free to contact us at any time.

Kind regards,
Lavinia Iancu

Hi
I am currently trying to test my pages in Safari & Firefox 3. However, the Dropdown menu does not appear.

You can see the menu items on the left if you pass the pointer over them. Otherwise they are invisible.

The menus work fine in IE7

Any suggestions.

Hello,

You should have no problems if you copy the code like that correctly but we advise you to use the insert existing menu? feature of our product to avoid any errors when you copy the code. Please send us the index.html page or a link to it to support@extendstudio.com, so we can figure out whats causing your problem.
