Hi,
I have installed the demo versions for Image Effects And Image Show Pro in DW V8
When trying to save anything created in either programs interface I get this DW message:
" Making this change would require changing the code that is locked by a template or translator. The change wil be dicarded"
I am inserting in an editable region of my template
Not able to use, would anyone know how I can fix this to use products?
Thanks,
Catalin Serban [Extend Studio]

Hello,
Using the products with templates should not be a problem when inserting in an editable zone. Please send us the site at support (at) extendstudio (dot) com to see exactly what is happening.

Thank you,

Hello Tanna,

I just tried to reproduce your bug but i hadn't had much success. The components work well when i insert them into an editable region of a template. Then i can use the template in any HTML page and everything works ok. If you are trying to edit the Image Show/Image Effects inside the editable region of the template from here ( the html where you are using the template) then it won't work, but that's the normal template behavior. A template can be edited only by editing it's file. You cannot edit it from a html page that uses that template.
As for your second question, our products are uploading the files they need to work properly. For example, if you insert a new picture into an Image Show, it has to create an upload a new swf in order for you to see your changes in your website.
Hope I've succeeded in answering your questions. If you have any more questions , or if your problem with the templates persists please feel free to write us here or at support@extenstudio.com.

Best regards,

Hi Andrei,
Your reply has me a little closer,
I can put the slideshwow on a template page- works great
but when I create new/from that template the slideshow does not show.
Or If I save the template as a html page, no show.

Thank you
Tanna

Hello Tanna,

When you create a new template, Dreamweaver automatically creates a folder called Templates in your websites folder. Lets say that your website looks like this :
Includes/
Images/
Templates/
Index.html

When you insert an Image Show inside your template that uses the pictures from the Images folder, the path that will be saved will be ../images/picture1.jpg?
Then when you use your template inside one of your pages the path to the images inside the Image Show will be the same. (../images/picture1.jpg?). But now that path is incorrect so it wont find your pictures.
What you can do to stop this from happening is to copy your images inside your templates folder when you create the image shows. So they will have paths like images/picture1.jpg? without the ../?. It should work just fine after that.

Hope this will help you.

Kind regards,

The same problem here. Even with editable regions in HEAD and BODY, it does not apply the changes.

Okay, I'm getting this same problem as the folks above are. I build my site in DW CS4. Here's my method of building which seems to be the same as the people above.

I build the site then make the Body and the Header Image an editable region. From here I make new pages. In this case lets say I make a home (index) page. I remove my generic placeholder image and place the cursor where the old placeholder image was, inside the "editable" region. I add the images in the Image Show Pro dialog box and click OK. This is when the error message comes up below.

"Making this change would require changing the code that is locked by a template or translator. The change will be discarded."

I Then just tried putting it on my template page in the header area. I removed the template region thinking I'll just spread the slide show across the site. Once I hit save on my template page it saves on all pages as it should. When I got to preview the page all I see is a blank spot where the image pro graphic should be. I had real high hopes for this product and I was about to get the Flexipanels but now I'm afraid to. I can make a movie with SnapsPro to show you the process and trouble I'm having with this. Please let me know if this will work for you and where should I send the video once I make it?
