I didn't see a forum section specifically devoted to jQuery so I'm including this here...feel free to move this post as appropriate.
I'm playing around with the demo of jQuery PowerSlider v1.0.281.
At the bottom of the Add, edit or remove slide section are a series of icons to add, rearrange, delete slides, etc.
When I hover over the pencil icon next to the red X delete icon the tooltip reads "delete the selected slide" - and sure enough, if I click the pencil icon, I get a 'delete confirmation' message. I'm guessing this is a bug and the pencil icon should be 'edit'?
As well, I have 8 slides in my slider and I've included a menu bar/nav bar.
In Dreamweaver design view, this navbar extends past the end of the jQuery Slider. Part of the title for slide 7 is contained within the slider DIV, but the title for slide 8 is beyond the jQuerySliderContainer div.
When I preview the jqueryslider in a browser, I can see part of the title for slide 7 at the bottom of the slider, but I can't see the title for Slide 8 - even if I'm *ON* slide 8 - it's hidden.
I would have presumed that the nav titles would rotate with the slide they are associated with, and always appear center or near center of their containing slider, but that's not happening. So as it is, you really can't use the nav bar/title bar to navigate the sliders, because some of the nav titles/bars get cut off depending on the number of slides in the slider.
It would be cool too if the nav titles were "tied" to the header of the slide they're associated with, but could be overwritten if desired. So if I have a slide with a header titled "What's New", the nav title would automatically be titled 'What's New' rather than 'Title of Slide X'.
As well, you're interchanging the two terms 'navbar' and 'menu bar'. Dreamweaver identifies the div as 'JQuerySlider1_navbar_in', but the extend inspector refers to it as 'menu bar'. For consistency sake, you should probably stick with one naming convention.
Lastly, I don't see a way (and maybe I'm overlooking it) to move or resize *all* the headers or subheaders for *all* the slides together at once. If I'm editing slide 1, and change the X offset or the width, this change doesn't cascade down and affect the other slides. I tried playing around with that 'individualize' box, but I'm not sure what that does.
Is there a way to move all elements in all slides together, or must they be moved piecemeal?
What is the proper way to remove elements from the slider? Lets say I've got the numbers bar on my slider but i don't like the way it looks. Can I just delete it from DW design view, or is there a "better/cleaner" way of doing so?
Oh, one other thing - You might want to consider putting an overflow:hidden on the absolutely positioned DIVs within the slider, because if the user doesn't increase the size of the containing element, it spills out and can potentially cover over elements in the slider.
I really like the product. Think there's a lot of potential for it. I like the fact that you can mix and match both HTML and images. I love the amount of customizable options that are available as well.
Another cool product. Good job!
