Hi -
I'm having a lot of trouble seeing the swf once it's put into a website. I've worked out the menu I want in Flash Vertical menu, and published it with an html so I can view it in a browser. So far so good.
The problem comes when I integrate the menu.swf into any html file in the site.
Dreamweaver inserts Flash swfs into html files quickly, so I used it first. It tells me to copy the swf to a location local to the rest of the site - no problem. When I test the page - the menu doesn't show up.
Then I tried inserting it "by hand" with a plain text editor, being careful to resolve all the "src" links. Still it doesn't show. What I do see is the background of the swf - so I know something from the swf is in the space on the page.
There are 2 issues I need help on:
1 - the site is built using CSS. ...not tables. So the menu swf sits inside a div that is floated into position. I've tried putting it in other places on the page - all I see is the box with the background color. Could the CSS rules be "hiding" the menu??
2 - I know that the "menu.xml" has to be at the same level as the menu.swf. I also see another file - "AC_RunActiveContent.js". Where is this from? Where should it be - in the file structure - relative to the menu.swf? In the same folder? Does this need to be refreshed or rebuilt everytime I test the swf or is the one file good over and over again?
I'd appreciate some help with this. Someone MUST have had a similar issue.
TIA any suggestions.

Hello Josh,
From your descripton, this isn't a menu related problem. But just to be sure, it would be best if you could send us the .fla and the XML file. Also, it would be great if yo could send us the link.
Regards,
Monica Chitu.

Thanks Monica -
As you predicted, it wasn't a menu or Flash issue but a Dreamweaver "feature". When I uploaded the site I continued to work on it and refresh the pages on the server. I neglected to upload the Scripts folder that DW added after Flash is added.
Here's a link anyway. I really broke some of the components "rule" as you can see.

I still have alot of work to do on the site and the menu but I've been able to learn about the menu component enough that customizing is easier. It should go faster on the next job.
Thanks again.
