Advanced Chart Features > Div Lines
Divisional line (Div Line) originates from a point on the Y axis and traverses the entire width of the canvas, a chart can have many div lines originating from points that are situated at regular intervals on the Y axis. Div Lines aid in data interpretation – by providing a visual framework which assists the audience of the chart in the process of matching the height of the data plot with the Y axis scale.
Div Lines can be configured from the 'Div Lines & Grids' panel which is located in the 'Chart Selection' screen. The 'Div Lines & Grids' panel will be displayed only when 'Show Advanced options' check box has been selected.
Following configurable parameters are available in the 'Div Lines & Grids' panel:
- adjustDiv: This parameter is very helpful because, if enabled - it automatically adjusts the distance between two div lines based on the values of the data.
- showDivLineValues: This parameter allows you to show or hide the Y asis values that are associated with div lines.
- showDivLineSecondaryValues: This parameter allows you to show or hide the secondary Y axis values that are associated with the div lines.
- numDivLines: In the 'numDivLines' field you can specify the number of div lines that you want to show on the chart.
- yAxisValuesStep: This parameter allows you to show every nth Y axis value, in order to configure this parameter you would need to specify the step interval in the 'yAxisValueStep' field.
- divLineColor: Using this parameter you can customize the color of the div lines.
- divLineThickness: This parameter allows you to set the thickness of the div lines.
- divLineAlpha: Using this parameter you ca set the alpha level of the div lines.

Alternate Grid Coloring
- alternateGridColor: Using this parameter you can customize the color which will be used for coloring every alternative grid on the chart..
- alternateGridAlpha: Using this parameter you can specify the alpha for the fill color that will be applied to every alternate grid on the chart.
The appearance of the div lines and grids can be enhanced by using styles - styles for the div lines and grids can be configured in their respective 'Style Definition' panel. To open the 'Style' panel for div lines use the 'Div Lines Style Setting' button and to define style for grids use 'H Grid Style Setting' button.
