In this tutorial I will show you how to create a great looking effect using Extend MovieFX in just a few steps.

1. This tutorial assumes that you have installed the extension in Flash; if not, visit our tutorial „How to install an extension”.

2. Firstly, open Flash and create a new file; set the frame rate to 35 frames per second.

3. Okay, so now that we have everything that we need, we can start working. I'm going to use a movie clip called „box”; if you would rather prefer to work with a different movie clip the tutorial will work just as well. I'm going to place an instance of „box” on the stage and apply an effect on it.

4. From the Window menu, open both the Components and the Component Inspector Panels, if they aren't already open. Drag an instance of Creative MovieFX from the Components panel on the symbol named „box”. A quite important specification is that the symbol's position (the one on which we'll apply the effect on) should be defined by integer coordinates (x=120.0 instead of x=120.4, for example); this is required from rendering purposes (otherwise a little jump will exist in the animation).

5. Enter the Component Inspector panel and make the same settings like in the next image to obtain a very nice looking effect. I used a Wipe effect and I left all the other settings default.

6. Click on CTRL+ENTER to preview your movie. You should see something that looks like this:
