The Out Effect

An additional option which is not present for the In or Wait effects is the first one – Use the In Effect configuration. This would apply all the settings selected for the In Effect to the Out Effect.

However, the Out Effect can be configured manually like both the previous effect elements. Firstly you can adjust its duration, which appears in the General Parameters section of the interface as well as in the Time Manager; however, the two text fields are linked – one’s modification leads to the adjustment of the other’s. Adjacent to the Duration text field, there is a Boolean option labeled Load Preset Duration; if enabled, the effect will use the duration of the preset, discarding any changes done in the Time Manager or in the General Parameters section of the interface.

The next thing to do is to select the Effect category where the effect resides. After selecting an effect pack, an effect has to be chosen from the adjacent drop-down list. An effect gallery presenting the available effects is available in the chapter entitled Browsing through the available effects.

After selecting the desired effect, you can configure its parameters in the Effect Parameters section of the interface, or browse the Effect preset drop-down list for a pre-designed configuration.

The motion of the effect can be configured using the two parameters, Motion type and Easing type. The possible values for the first are Regular, Strong, Elastic, Back, Bounce and None, while for the second one the motion can be set as easeIn, easeOut, easeInOut or easeNone.

The effect configuration can be done manually and a save preset option is available for saving the desired effect patterns.

In order to see how the effect looks at a certain point, the Preview option can be used; more information about that can be found in the Previewing your work chapter of the documentation.
