Tips & Tricks

- If you're using one of the built-in skins you can have the menu set up just by filling in the parameters on the General tab. The other tabs (Layout, Animation and Text) will be automatically filled in with the default values for the selected skin.

- The colors for the regular or highlight states of the skins can be set only for the built-in ones, not for custom designed skins; in custom design, the colors are previously set at the creation of the various skin elements.

- It is recommended to use absolute paths when defining the menu structure so when a change is made, by enabling the "Update all pages" option it will automatically change the paths in all the pages so no manual changes have to be made.

- If you are using a custom skin and you have selected in the General tab the "Fit to Page" option you should choose a bigger duplicate area for the background; the default cutting point is the middle of the image and the default duplicate area si a slice of width equal to five pixels.

- Usually - without the case presented above - the duplicate area should be small when using the Advanced Resize System; moreover, when resizing a gradient shape, the duplicate area should be as small as possible (one pixel) and the duplicating slice shoud be chosen in an area with an uniform color.

- Whenever you want to choose a Custom skin for your menu, please change the menu dimensions accordingly to obtain the expected results.

- When using Advanced Resize, set the values only for the resizing parameters you need; leave the other text fields blank - they will take the default value if required.

- Creative DW Vertical Menu handles the button persistency automatically; therefore, whenever a webpage will be opened, the corresponding button will be highlighted. However, if a corresponding page is not accesible directly from a button but you still want it highlighted, use the ID button property to link the page to the button.
