How to apply a previously saved effect

In this tutorial we will create an effect, save it, and then apply it on a different image; this can be very useful, especially that usually we have a lot of images that have to maintain the same appearance. The effect we'll create looks similar with a wooden picture frame with a reflective glass over the picture.

Firstly I just want to remind you that, in order to be able to solve the tutorial, you will need the Creative Dw Image Effects extension installed on your computer; if you encounter any problems while doing that, please visit the “How to install an extension” tutorial.

1. Open Dreamweaver, create a new website and a new file; save your file. If you have problems creating your website, try reading the “How to create a website” tutorial.

2. From the Insert menu – the Image Effects section, Insert a new Simple Effects instance on your newly-created page.

3. The effects we will need for our Creative Image Effects instance are: „Image border” and „Glossy” (from the static effects list) and „Luminosity” (from the dynamic effects list).

5. We are now at the part that makes the object of this tutorial. Let's name the configuration „myEffect” and click on the „Insert item” button – the “Save Configuration” section.

6. Click OK to exit this configuration interface; leave some space and insert another instance of Creative Simple Effects. Select the second image attached to this tutorial and click OK. Find the „myEffect” configuration (in the Load list) and then click „Insert item”. Now all the previously created effects should have appeared.
