box Universal AIR XML Generator

With Universal AIR XML Generator you can rapidly and effortlessly create or update the XML, images and texts for your slideshows, galleries and banner rotators. It crops or scales all at once the images for thumbnails, full screen preview or default view, then automatically generates the XML for each image and uploads everything to the production server via FTP.

Image resize

The image resize interface is essential to the workflow of the application. In this interface you can set the application to do various resizes of the images added earlier, depending on the image formats needed by the slideshow/gallery/banner rotator you are creating. Typical slideshows need 3 sizes for each image: full screen preview, regular image and thumbnail. The resized images can be placed in separate folders for each size or can be placed in the same location, in which case the images are renamed accordingly to their names. The resize can be done by crop or by scale. Image type (JPG, GIF or PNG) can be preserved or you can transform the images to the desired format.

Images Publish Folder

Understanding the folder structure and where the images are places is paramount for the XML creation. Based on the images folder location the paths to the images in the XML will be different. By default the images are saved in the Publish folder. If you choose to have the images "saved in the same folder for all images", then the images will be saved directly in the default Publish folder (and you can change the folder as you wish, for example if you need images of all sizes to be saved in a folder called galleries you should add "galleries" to the path. If each image size is saved in a different folder, for each image size you have a field "Output folder". Therefore, the images will be saved by default in the publish\image-size-folder location.

Use same folder for all images

By default, for each image size, the application creates a folder (which you can see and change in the "Output Folder" field). If you need to have all image sizes in the same folder, you can enable the saving in the same folder for all images and each image name will be appended with a suffix accordingly to the size (the output folder field is replaced by the "Output image suffix")

Setting the image sizes

The output size for the images can be set in pixels for width and height.

Output folder

Depending on the requirements of the slideshow, the resized images can be placed in folders; you can manage the path where the images are saved related to the location of the XML file (example: ../big goes one level up and big/images goes one level down). The folders will be automatically created when you publish the project.

Resize method

Images can be resized by scaling (it keeps the image proportions) or by cropping.

Output image type

The resized images can preserve the type of the original images you added in the Images and Albums interface (preferred) or if the slideshow requires, you can convert them to JPG, GIF or PNG. The conversion will happen automatically when publishing the project.
