To get started, click on the “Insert a Drop Down Menu” icon   by accessing the Creative Menus Toolbar from the Dreamweaver Insert Toolbar in Dreamweaver 8 and CS3.

The Insert Toolbar can be opened by pressing Ctrl+F2 or select insert from the Window menu; It’s a tool bar that contains multiple categories. You need to select the Creative Menus category in order to see Creative Menus Toolbar.

The interface will open with the General Tab selected which holds the general parameters that configure the menu.

The Creative DW Tabbed Menu extension is designed to be compliant with our Plug & Play standard so the learning curve is almost instant. No hand coding required so you can build up your menus in minutes.

The interface is further organized in six tabs, providing you unlimited customizability options.

• Layout Tab: holds the positioning and sizing parameters for the menu items and submenu items ( alignments, spacing, margins, minimum dimensions, button resizing options and others )
• Animation Tab: holds the parameters which will help you define the button and submenu animations. You can choose from more than 35 transition effects and set the duration for each of these effects.
• Text Tab: this tab gathers all the information needed to set up the text held in the menu buttons. You can set: font, size, style & color, alignments, spacing and margins.
• Preview Tab: The integrated preview gives you the possibility to see how the menu would look like with your changes applied on without having to publish the page.
• Presets Tab: You can use the Presets Tab to save your menu configuration as a preset so that you can reuse it at a later time.

If you're using one of the built in skins you can have the menu set up just by filling in the parameters on the General tab. The other tabs will be automatically filled in with the default values for the selected skin.

Also with the automatic asset update & upload there is no need to upload the menus assets every time you make a change.

Defining the menu structure is simple and intuitive job because now is displayed as a tree. Each item in the tree represents a menu button. Below the tree view you can find a toolbar that you can use in order to add/edit/delete the menu items that are displayed in the tree.
